FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Beds: There are 2 double beds and a pull-out futon sofa.
Boats: Please bring your own mooring rope and extension chords for charging your electric motor. Please let us know if you intend to bring your boat and the length of your boat. We always do our best to assist you in setting up the proper mooring poles (with your own rope.) Still, we do advise you to pull your boat nightly, as the winds can be sudden & high.
Boat Rentals: Check out the Curtis Fish and Hunt Shop http://www.fishandhuntshop.com/boatrentals.htm
Cable TV: Yes, we have cable TV with DVD player.
Cell phone service: Cell phone service is generally unreliable in the Upper Peninsula when you travel outside of Marquette and Escanaba.
Dock: Due to a bad fall storm, the community dock is no longer in use. We just added a 40 footdock in front of the cottage (at times shared with the Indian Lake Lodge.) Please let us know if you are bringing your boat (734) 284-5677. Tie-off poles are provided. We do not have bumpers on the dock. Please bring your own rope & bumpers. You need to launch your boat at the Indian Lake State Park, 1/2 mile from the Lodge and a $4.50 per vehicle if you do not have a State sticker in your window. Due to the high winds, we do recommend pulling your boat nightly.
Firewood: We do not guaratee there will be firewood available during your stay. Many times, you will find firewood left in close proximity to the cottage, that you are welcome to use. Firewood Rick at (906) 341-5698. He's just down the road and generally can deliver a face chord of wood for approximately $60 - delivered.
Fish cleaning hut: We have a communal fish cleaning hut that is used by 12 cabins within the Mountain Ash Association. (Open May-end of September)

Guns: We can not allow target shooting anywhere near the Indian Lake (Mountain Ash Association) Cottages. There are neighbors closeby. Plus, there are local 2 gun ranges in the area that are accessible.

The only way to have a pet with the Mountain Ash Association is to purchase a cottage. Owners are allowed to have pets, yet guests are not. My apologies for this inconsistency, yet it is a part of the association by-laws.
Play area: There is a small children's play area with a swing-set and plenty of room for outdoor children's games across from the community grilling area.

Big Springs "Kich-iti-kipi": Michigan's largest freshwater spring. Two hundred feet across, and 40-feet deep. Over 10,000 gallons a minute gush from fissures in the underlying limestone at a constant 45 degree Fahrenheit. By means of a self-operated observation raft, visitors are guided to vantage points overlooking fascinating underwater features and fantasies. Ancient tree trunks, lime-encrusted branches and fat trout appear suspended in nothingness as they slip through crystal waters far below. Clouds of sand kept in constant motion by gushing waters create ever-changing shapes and forms, a challenge to the imagination of young and old alike.
Indian Lake Golf Course: A very popular, 18 hole golf course along Indian Lake. Just 5 miles from the Cabin.
The Kewadin Casino: It is approximately 10 minutes (7 miles) from the Lodge. If you make reservations, they will pick you up at the cabin and return your group as well.

Great location! Indian Lake is a beautiful lake. Great for boating, swimming and enjoying time with the family.
You can bring your boat here! Plenty of room for the whole family.
Loved the view. Cozy, just desperately needs updating in the kitchen area. Dishes were dirty looking no pans for cooking. Couches were discussing, didn't want to sit on,thought they might have some kind of bugs.Hope the update gets done because we would really love to come back.
