Comfortable cozy and clean

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this cozy updated cabin. The sound of the river is so soothing. We had everything we needed right there. The walk to the river is down the hill, a slight challenge with a bad knee, but there was a fire stick at the fire pit close to the cabin which ended up being the perfect makeshift walking stick. We decided we could absolutely live there. Bob and Sue August, 2017.

Great place to relax

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The screened in porch was nice for having breakfast or enjoying the river breeze with the evening meal. Great place to get away and relax.

Secluded paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cabin last summer with our one year old and it was a very special place! It's about 20 minutes from Escanaba so you have access to grocery stores and gas stations and it was a great location to be about 1-2 hours from places to visit. The pictures don't really do it justice, there's a lot of charm in this place and the property is quite large and beautiful! The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, beds are a little firm but we brought memory foam overlays, living room is very comfortable complete with satellite tv/fireplace, screened in porch is spacious & cozy, two firepits outside (one near the cabin, other by the river) for lots of star gazing and the best part is the Escanaba river. The river is ankle deep most parts (bring water shoes) and we spent a lot of hot days walking up and down the river never seeing a soul as we explored. I would recommend going to this property at any time other than mid August, it was hotter in the UP than it was in the lower peninsula but we greatly appreciated the fans the owner left in cabin! If you travel with a little one, I would bring an inflatable tub, we set that up in the shower for baths. The owner Valarie is extremely helpful, the firepits were actually set up ready to light! Our time at the cabin will always be a special memory for us.
