We are world travelers that live in the Washington DC region. Wintergreen offers us a place for the kids to play freely, experience nature, learn to ski, and to get away from the Virginia summer heat.
Chris purchased this condo in 2010
Wintergreen Resort is famous for being environmentally friendly. The resort has placed over 10,000 acres in perpetual trust to be enjoyed forever. It is quiet, low profile but luxurious. One of a kind place only 2 hours from home.
Sunrise and sunset are our favorite times during our visits. Cooking luxury meals and enjoying them outside on the balcony is pretty nice also. Very warm in winter, cool in summer, quiet, comfortable and safe place to unwind.
Decent weekend of skiing. Base is good, the snow is hardpacked with slopes open. Night skiing was awesome.
Accurate description of property, including photos. Kitchen was adequately equiped for a long weekend. My husband and I travelled with two 15 yo girls. We all went tubing and they used the zip line. Everyone had a great time. Used the fireplace, the wood was provided. We did not use the shuttle but did see it running regularly and it seemed to be a good source of moving around. Parking was not a problem the weekend we were there. We definitely would call again if we were going to Wintergreen.
Tough Mudder annually, Wildflower Symposium in the spring, outdoor concerts throughout spring, summer and fall, daily wildlife guides, wine tours, beer garden visits, Monticello 35 minutes away.
Awesome childrens day camps.
