Participate locally: If you arrive by Thursday, the Palm Springs' downtown area 'Village Fest' on Palm Canyon Drive is transformed into a bustling street fair...Artists, craftsmen, food vendors, musicians and entertainers are there to entertain. Stock up on local farm veggies/fruit or enjoy some great people watching.
Also experience, on Friday from 4pm to 9pm, 'First Friday On North Palm Canyon' (every month, year-round), between Tachevah and Amado Road, featuring entertainment, food and fun, where more than 50 antique furnishings and art stores remain open into the late evening.

Great hiking trails include: Palm Canyon, Murray Canyon, Tahquitz Canyon and multiple trails off the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Also stroll through Moorten's Botanical Garden less than a 1/4-mile from the property.
Tennis: Ruth Hardy Park has 8 courts in great condition. No charge for use of the courts to play.
Option for single players at Ruth Hardy Park: Players from expertise level 4.5 to 3.0 can pick a rotational play court to fit w/ your skill level. Ask someone waiting at the courts for more info about the system and they should be helpful. Single players sit by a court when 4 people are playing. At end of a set, 3 people will stay on the court and one person will rotate out allowing you to play. Shaded benches under mature trees provide relief in the heat of the summer.

We have been traveling to Palm Springs with good friends who have owned a home in the desert since 2001. We were excited to find a home in a natural desert setting that we could renovate, enjoy and share with others!
What makes this House unique
We bought this home because of the gorgeous views and the mid-century sensibility of the home in this amazing hillside setting. When creating the landscape with its patios, pool/spa, walls and established trees we made every effort to ensure we brought the natural Palm Springs panorama into view. It is something to behold from every room and spot in and around the house!

Private & Perfect
Palm Springs is pretty small, so no location is bad. But this house is perfectly located a close drive to the main drag of restaurants and shopping, yet also tucked away on a quiet street against a hillside that gives it rare privacy. The pool area is so gorgeous. It's a great house and was everything we could've hoped. Highly recommended!

The perfect Palm Springs experience
This house was just perfect. Close to downtown Palm Springs, hiking, shopping and restaurants, yet private and relaxing. Barbara's home is well appointed and well maintained. The casita in particular was absolutely lovely. We could live here and were so sad to leave!

We found our little heaven get away...
This house is just so extraordinary. Quiet and serene, with it's own gorgeous mountain tucked right up into the view from from the pool and three of the rooms. The location is spectacular with light breezes floating around the pool area. The landscaping and pool hot tub are just perfect. I am so glad we stayed here and I can't wait until I get another chance to visit again. It feels like home. A home I don't have to clean, repair, organize or do anything but LOVE. Thank you for sharing it!

Modern Hillside Retreat is on a protected cul de sac nestled close to the San Jacinto Mountain Range on the South end of Palm Springs. It's typically wind-free due to the protection of the mountains. The Mesa is an established and vibrant neighborhood of about 180 unique homes with an interesting history. It is strictly a residential neighborhood except for the Moorten Botanical Garden founded by the first desert's horticulturalist. There are a variety of architectural styles in the Mesa: Spanish, Adobe, California Ranch and Mid-Century Modern. Fabulous examples include: Donald Wexler's Butterfly-Style homes, Alexander homes and the nearby 1930's 'Ship of the Desert' home. Local celebrities include: Barry Manilow, Suzanne Somers, Trina Turk, Herman Wouk.
