Art...Nature...History...Mystery?! Casa Julian is easily the best vacation rental in Marfa! Located on a quiet residential street just 2 blocks north of the Courthouse, everything you've come to town for is within walking distance. This sleek and comfortable, updated 3/2 home offers quiet comfort indoors (away from the town’s central railroad tracks), or secluded retreat on a perfect private patio and fully enclosed courtyard for relaxing after your day of soaking up the culture of Marfa. This is not your typical small, West Texas town!
Amenities included in the approx 1600 sq ft home are a fully equipped kitchen, stained concrete floors throughout, queen-size pillow top beds in all bedrooms, two full bathrooms with tub/shower, laundry room, WiFi, dining room table seats 6 and the spacious living room is perfect for planning tomorrow’s experience!
The tiny town that’s known for its artistic scene also has a fast evolving culinary niche, so make time to explore Marfa’s “foodie” side! Stroll over to Maiya’s Restaurant or the French café, Cochineal, or visit the best known eating destination, The Food Shark, specializing in local food and housed under the gigantic shade pavilion downtown that is also home to the Farmer’s Market. Want to just hang out? Padre’s (housed in a former funeral home) is the place for great live entertainment, pinball machines, jukeboxes and pool tables, or go low-key and grab a cup of coffee at Frama Coffee Shop and tour the historical architecture of the Presidio County Courthouse anchoring the classic Texas town square!
Casa Julian is a family owned home away from home that sleeps 6 comfortably. The kitchen is fully stocked with staples and cookware making it easy to shop at The Get Go Grocery for the main items and prepare delicious meals in the comfort of your retreat. Sorry, no pets!
The cool, high desert of Marfa is known for hiking/walking, highly recommended bike tours, beautiful surroundings, and dark skies--the stars at night are big and bright! Big Bend National Park enacts measures to protect their night sky, therefore, the star gazing is wonderful on clear nights. Be warned, the historic railroad tracks accommodate many trains rolling through nightly blaring their horns, so bring your ear plugs, or choose to sleep soundly inside Casa Julian’s double-paned windows on a quiet street!
Whether you are coming to Marfa and the Big Bend area to celebrate the Marfa Lights Festival, simply relax or to visit one of the local art galleries or museums, make sure your day ends on a quiet note, stargazing on the patio at Casa Julian--the perfect place to contemplate life and journal your heart out.

My wife, daughter and I live in The Texas Hill country & Marfa. We travel the world whenever we get an opportunity. Marfa is a very special place for me and my family.
Brian Treusdell purchased this house in 2006
My wife and I love Marfa. It has the Best weather in Texas and so many fun things to do. It is our favorite get away place because you can relax and enjoy life in Marfa. We own three Day Spas in San Antonio and Hotel Faust, a boutique hotel, in Comfort, Texas so Marfa is a great refuge from the hectic life we lead in San Antonio.
Casa Julian is a great place to reconnect with your family and friends. The weather and the environment melt away stress.
Convenient walk to downtown. Spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with large backyard. We attended a wedding in Marfa and most attendees stayed at hotel Paisano but it was a quick walk there and we saved a lot of money in this home as opposed to the hotel. Great experience would book again if I'm in Marfa.
We loved this house! We were in town for a weekend wedding, and this house worked perfectly for us! It is like home away from home. Everything we needed was supplied, and it was so easy to find and get in.
Everything is close in Marfa, but this is far enough away from the train, so it isn't too bothersome.
Would gladly stay here again!
Casa Julian was perfect for my wedding weekend! My [now] husband and I stayed there with a few friends to enjoy Marfa before the big day. The home was clean, bright, and perfect to utilize as a "home-base" while we were there. We all were in awe of how well we slept in the most comfortable bedding. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, the closets were large, and the bathrooms spacious. Brian was incredibly responsive (as well as the property manager) and even let us check-in early when we got into Marfa earlier than planned. Marfa is small and notoriously walk-able and this home is no exception. Great home for such a memorable weekend! Thank you!
Casa Julian was the perfect place to stay while visiting Marfa for the first time! It is simply decorated, clean, spacious and comfortable. The owners were great too! Brian & Diane made sure we had everything we needed and were easy to contact with any questions. There were even some cold cervezas waiting for us in the frig! We walked to many of the restaurants, bars, and retail stores. Many of these establishments are on Marfa-time so make sure and check out the schedules made available by the owners. Do not miss Padres Marfa and Planet Marfa for some evening beverages/entertainment and start your morning at Marfa Burrito! Make sure to stop at the Visitor's Center. They were extremely helpful and we were able to plan an awesome itinerary during our stay. I would definitely stay at Casa Julian on my next visit and I would recommend it to my friends/family too! I can't wait to return!
This is a beautiful three bedroom / two bathroom home that is ideal for a family. There is ample space inside for small children and a wonderful back patio that is enclosed. The internet connection is extremely strong. The house is immaculately kept and very well maintained. The owner contacted us before our visit with a list of local restaurants and stores. I strongly recommend this house for all families visiting Marfa!
