Being an East Coast guy I never realized how big the states are out west. That being said we covered 3,701 miles in our rental vehicle in 15 days. We only booked for 2 here and boy was that a mistake. We could have spent the whole 15 here! Neil and Cat are two of the best hosts we've ever met and made sure all was ready for us including setting the table for dinner. The home is beyond description except to say, watch the video and be prepared for it to be even better than any pictures or video. There is nothing you need to bring but your food and clothes and I have a feeling if you didn't bring clothes, nobody would notice. The view of the Devils Tower from your living room and porch is breath taking, as is the house. I told Neil and Cat that we were going to become squatters and they'd have to get the Sheriff to get us out. A flock of wild turkeys visited every morning along with deer and other critters. We absolutely adored it. Keeping this short and sweet, if we ever come back to Wyoming, we are going here, and never leaving. Thank you Neil and Cat, we left believing we had made two new friends, not just people you rent a home from. As we say in the South, Bless your hearts! I am recommending this place to everybody I run into. It is more than what is advertised, and you can't say that much anymore.
We stayed at Neil and Cat's cabin for 18 days and it was the most wonderful peaceful and serene to watch the beautiful sun sets and the different colors you can see on the Devils Tower! The cafes that are close have wonderful people to visit with and very good food! The Devils Tower is just a wonder of it's own! Thanks a Million Cat and Neil your cabin is just Wonderful!!!!
Having stayed at this cabin 7 nights, I can say it is even better than how it appeared online. Rustic and tranquil, the perfect getaway for friends and family. It was very well kept and had every amenity you could ask for. The mountain views were incredible and the overall experience in working with Neil and Cat was top-notch. I would highly recommend this getaway to anyone looking for a true mountain cabin with modern amenities.
The owners of this chalet have tamed the Wild West so that you can just relax with a wonderful view of Devils Tower. My wife, daughter (6yrs old) and I ended up booking with them due to a last minute change to our plans that made a different location unavailable. This turned out to be a serendipitous action. When we arrived the owners were very courteous and concise about the tour of the cabin and helped us unload our gear. They gave us a good overview of the dos and don’ts with the hottub, steam shower and HVAC system. The chalet was fully equipped with all the comforts you expect from a modern home. Full sized kitchen, Sat TV, Wifi, etc.. (Check listing for full list).
We had more aggressive plans to drive to Mount Rushmore and Deadwood but after seeing the view we decided to relax and stay put. Every night we would watch the sunset and sip wine on the porch. Our daughter really got a kick out of the local animals. We used the grill to cook steaks and the kitchen to bake a pie. One night we were treated to an amazing light show of lightning off in the distance near Devils Tower. We even got a few games of pool in the basement and watched a few movies. We had some confusion with the AC and they were prompt to come check it out. This place made a good vacation great and relaxing!
From the moment we met Neil and Cat at the Trading Post we knew we were in for a wonderful stay. Their warm and truly personal welcome was beyond our expectations. I can't say enough about them and know that the end of our vacation did not end our relationship with them. The "amazing rustic chalet" is a jaw dropping experience. We walked in to fresh flowers and a dining table set for royalty! It was a hot day outside and the home was cooled to perfection. Cat and Neil did a great job of explaining everything to us from the very basics to special details. They even offered to help us unload our vehicles! This place is loaded with ambience and beautiful décor, but still felt like a home to us. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, with all the necessities provided, and the views of wildlife and Devils Tower are breathtaking. We walked the base of Devils Tower which is a must. This vacation was an opportunity for us to reconnect with our adult children and this was a perfect place to do it. We all enjoyed the pool table, darts, gym, movies and ladder ball and more . We drove in to Hulett and Sundance on different days and the people were delightful, and had all the services and goods you could need. Neil and Cat were available to us at all times if we needed anything. God bless Neil and Cat for sharing their "little piece of Heaven (home)" with us.
We had the wonderful privilege to spend a very restful few days in this paradise in Wyoming. We were on a cross continent journey and this location provided a very restful stop to recharge and enjoy the beauty from the great deck to enjoy the views of Devil's Tower and the hills, a hammock with a view and the wrap around views from the home. Everything in the house was top notch from an amazing gourmet kitchen, lovely bathrooms with water jets in showers and very comfortable living and dining room. Owners very helpful and hospitable ensuring great experience. Only thing missing was Adirondack chairs on the decks.... It is rare to find such a high end rental that is dog friendly - this was a special treat and an experience to remember.
