NOTHING else this nice at Horseshoe for the price

  • 5 of 5

When I was searching for a cabin to rent at Horseshoe Lake, I came across this and it sounded almost too good to be true. Thankfully I was wrong – it is a GEM!

You enter the house through a screened porch that runs the width of the cabin. There’s a swing, 2 rocking chairs, and a large table where we ate all our meals. There’s quite a bit of shade out there on the porch AND a ceiling fan so even in July it was pleasant and we loved being out there.

The house has an open floor plan with a good size well-equipped kitchen to your left and the living room with a wall-mounted TV and plenty of COMFORTABLE seating to your right. There were only 2 of us but we did have some friends out for the 4th of July boat parade and fireworks and a cookout and we did not feel crowded at all. In fact, my friends threatened to just stay and sleep in the recliners which are super big and comfy.

The bedroom’s got a huge closet and a NICE king size bed. We especially loved the mattress and bedding. The way the cabin is laid out is nice if you have people sleeping in both the bedroom and the living room because you can access the bathroom from either room. The bathroom is all updated like the rest of the house. Everything was immaculate and well-kept. I am picky about this sort of thing and I must say that whoever cleans it does a really nice job.

We knew that this cabin would not be right on the water and we would share a pier with the people in the house in front. The people who were there for the 4th were family of the owners and could not have been nicer. The pier was very well equipped. There were all kinds of supplies and water toys that I’m sure we could have used if we’d wanted but we just wanted to relax and swim and watch the amazing sunsets. But I can see families with little ones being just as happy and comfortable at this cabin as my husband and I were.

Both of us commented quite a few times throughout our stay that we could not believe how inexpensive yet amazing this place was. There is NOTHING at Horseshoe Lake area as nice as this for this price! It is very well kept and you can tell the owners take pride in the cabin.

In some ways I almost don’t even want to share this review because I want this cabin to be available to US when we are ready to come back -- which will be SOON! We just adore Horseshoe Lake and now we have found our perfect home away from home.

Super location & fantastic hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 adults, 2 kids under 8) recently stayed for 5 nights in this cabin. We loved everything about it! Wilma & Frank have done a wonderful job decorating the place. The location was very convenient to Memphis-we drove into town everyday. We caught two fish from the pier at the end of November! Our hosts were extremely accomodating. The cabin additonally offers a blow-up queen mattress which allowed each of our kids to have their own sleeping area. If you plan on being in the area, this is a fantastic place to stay!

Peaceful and Charming

  • 5 of 5

I wanted a place to get away and just relax. This cabin was perfect!! My favorite spot was the screened porch, which had a pleasant breeze the entire time. The birds were singing and I got to watch a whole host of squirrels romping and playing. This is a great place to relax and recharge.

Great Little Get-a-way!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and his co-worker went to horseshoe lake for a weekend fishing trip, rented this cabin and had a great time. He talked all week about the great time he had, the great hospitiality, the great lake and the great friendly people. So three weeks later we booked again as a family and had ALL the GREAT times again that he talked about. The cabin is sooooo neat and clean. Special thanks to the Boutwells and Potempa's for making us feel right at home.
