I grew up in Harlem so I know the neighborhood like the back of my hand. I take great pride in knowing the history on some buildings, blocks and even the people. I couldn't imaging moving away from my hometown that has become so popular.

Tae was extremely helpful, responsive, and accommodating. Checking in and out was simple, and the instructions for entry that he provided were straightforward. The pictures accurately reflect the condition of the apartment. It was immaculately kept , and none of us had complaints. My friends and I (6 in total) felt comfortable, and truly enjoyed our stay.
One thing to note, the neighborhood is a little sketchy. There is a building next to the apartment that upon first glance one would think it was abandoned, but it wasn't, therefore walking through the neighborhood could make you a little nervous. No one bothered us at all, but a couple of times police officers were called to address issues there.
Overall, we had a great time! Whenever we left the apartment we called Uber to get to our destination. Parking close to the apartment was a bit difficult, especially due to the alternate side of the street parking rules. If you park your vehicle close to the apartment you may not want to move it because it would be difficult finding another one close by.
Again, thanks Tae for the warm hospitality. We truly appreciated everything.
Not the greatest. During the day, the area is sketchy & at night it's very scary. We were home everyday by 7-8 pm LATEST. We did not feel safe walking around or exploring. It was literally walk out to get into the closest subway & leave the area. During the night, you will hear people yelling, fighting, playing VERY loud music & random, long fits of honking. It was not what we were expecting.
Although location was not great, the home is very spacious! We were 5 adults & never felt cramped or stuffed. The apartment has a small yard which I wish we could have taken advantage of & used (the grass was probably 2-3 feet tall). The living room had great couches (very comfy!) and several tables to use. The kitchen had stools to sit while eating & was well equipped with necessities.
Things I wish we would have had: 1) Coat hangers. We kept the entire week our coats on the coffee table since we had no place to hang them (Only 1 Bedroom has a closet!). 2) Shelving in the bedrooms. Two of the 3 rooms did not have closets which is OKAY, but we needed a dresser or shelves to put our clothes & other items. We lived out of our luggage for 1 week...it wasn't terrible but sometimes it was annoying. 3) Cleanliness: The sheets had hairs on them & the bathrooms did not look clean. Upon arrival we went to the closest grocery store & bought cleaning supplies to thoroughly clean the bathrooms. Since the apt. doesn't come with Washer/Dryer, the only option we had was to dust outside all of the sheets... 4) Access to the AC/Heater. We had no control over the AC or Heater. The 1st night we were cold (see notes below) & then the rest of the nights it was hotter than in Miami...NO bueno!
What an incredible owner!! Tae was a pleasure to work with from the start! He accommodated us with our early check in & late check out. Also, the heater was not working. He tried fixing it with me on the phone & when we couldn't figure it out, he came by the next day. We also told him that the coffee jar was cracked & he came in and replaced it. He followed up with us twice during our stay to make sure everything was Okay. At the end of our trip, my brother left behind his laptop. We contacted Tae & he offered to ship it back to us. Great Hospitality. If this review was about him- 5 stars!
The place was very convenient in location. the train station was 3 blocks away, very short distance. the was a supermarket nearby that was huge. the place was nice, clean and very spacious for ny living. I was actually shocked at the size. Tae was helpful and only a phone call away. the kitchen was large and had all the basic items needed. the only down side of the area is that it isn't far from where the bums hang out but this is ny after all. if you are not used to city living then it can be shocking. but the street where this rental is located was quiet and not many people hanging out. we had parking right in front of the building and didn't have any problems. the location overall was key for us cause we could sightsee and also visit family. I would definitely stay here again.
The home was really comfortable and located in just the right place for our vacation. We were able to get acclimated with the neighborhood and happy to be in walking distance from both the train system, trendy dining, and shopping.
The house is clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for somewhere to hang their hat for a few nights in New York City.
The townhouse is very spacious - we were two adults and five teenagers and there was plenty of room. Very clean - the kitchen is modern and nice. The owner was very helpful and made everything easy - short walk to the Metro.
I would stay here again -
