Sunny and stylish - great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely 4 day weekend at this stylish little cottage within walking distance of the village of Sag Harbor, tennis courts, a playground etc. The back yard was spacious enough for the kids to play and provided ample sun and shade. The kitchen was small but well stocked with anything you need to cook. We know the area very well and this was the perfect spot to take advantage of all!

Cozy and comfortable

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and very charming. It was a bit smaller than I had expected but it still worked, even for 2 adults and 3 children. We had to put the two girls together in a bed but which was fine. There are two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. The kitchen is tiny so we ended up eating out every night. There is a great burger joint around the corner with outdoor seating which was good and easy for kids. The property is about a 15 minute walk to town so we ended up driving when we went into town. Sag Harbor is an amazing little town with great restaurants and shopping. In summary we loved the place and would rent it again. Thanks Susan.

Perfect for a couple and child

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time in Sag Harbor. I scoured the websites for rental houses and landed on this one. We have a 21 month-old toddler and needed a place with an extra bedroom, outdoor space and easy access to the beach. The owner provided a lot of good information about the rental as well as the surrounding areas. It was very clean and maintained. Having a child, we were concerned with safety (child-proofing) and she was clear that its not child-proofed but there are some simple gates blocking the stairs. We didn't have any issues and were able to use what was provided to keep our child safe. The space is very small, but very quaint and nicely decorated. All amenities listed were provided and she answered my questions during my stay promptly. We look forward to staying here again in future summers.

As far as local amenities, the owner had good recommendations and when I compared her recommendations to other sites, they were the best places we could visit for dinner, lunch and brunch. We went to the American Hotel Restaurant for dinner and it was great. We did lots of shopping in the nearby downtown area. I wouldn't say that the downtown area is walking distance from the cottage unless you don't mind walking a far distance. But it is a quick drive. If you can walk there, you will save time looking for parking as it can get congested in the downtown area. Havens beach was very low-key and an easily accessible beach. The sand is more rocky though. It seems that there are more locals that visit Havens beach, which was a plus for us. We also visited Mecox beach and it was nice but a longer drive and more packed with people - also less family oriented (more of a party scene). The sand there is more fine and like you would expect. We watched the 4th of July fireworks on Havens beach and it took about an hour to get back to the cottage (normally 8min drive) so park strategically and planning is important. Overall it was a wonderful trip and we look forward to doing it again.

Charming and perfect! So close to town!!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most perfect stay in this beautiful home. It is simply charming, beautifully decorated yet feels like home. It is in a wonderful location, so close to down which was wonderfully convenient. The home sits on a beautiful corner lot with big yard and perfect backyard for relaxing and grilling. We would love to return. Sag Harbor is not to be missed and this is the perfect home to view it from! Thank you Susan!!

Perfect get away

  • 5 of 5

We just spent Labor Day Weekend at the house and could of asked for a more perfect stay.

Situated on a quiet road with great outdoor garden space and perfect side dec for enjoying afternoon BBQ on the GREEN EGG (best grilled food we have ever had). The house is well decored and very comfortable. Walking distance from the town of Sag Harbor you couldn't be in a better location to either enjoy relaxing at the house or taking a quick stroll into town.

Would fully recommend the house and we will be sure to book again.

Owner's Response: Hi Tracy, It was so nice of you to write this review. Would you mind making a slight adjustment? I think you meant to say "We just spent Labor Day Weekend at the house and could NOT of asked for a more perfect stay". INSTEAD OF "We just spent Labor Day Weekend at the house and could of asked for a more perfect stay." We are happy you enjoyed your stay and the green egg! These reviews mean a lot to me and I appreciate the time you took to write it. All the best, Susan

A Cottage with a Touch of Class

  • 5 of 5

As first time vacationers to the area we were looking for an affordable but charming accommodation that would convey the true flavor of historic Sag Harbor. We were excited to find this cottage available and even more enthused when we stepped foot through the front door of this well-maintained property and found a personal note from the owner. Nestled in a wooded setting, it was exactly as we had anticipated but even more enticing up close and inside with its open beams, wall of windows and efficient European kitchen. We enjoyed the comfort and simple pleasures of this nicely appointed historic cottage juxtaposed with tasteful contemporary decor. It is situated in a convenient location within walking distance to town and easy access to major connecting routes to other areas of the South Fork. We quickly discovered that we were in close proximity to two very popular restaurants (Estia's and Bay Burger) as well as multiple public beaches and even a sailing school. Sag Harbor stands out as a truly special place as indicated by the owner who described it as "the best place on earth!" and we have to concur. What iced the cake of our experience was how accommodating the owner was in providing detailed information about the house and the surrounding area that would make our stay most enjoyable - we quickly became friends! We took advantage of as many recommendations that we could fit into a week without one disappointment and look forward to a return visit to "our cottage" when we can continue our exploration. If you are like us and appreciate getting the true feel of an area, this is the house for you. It was a memorable stay!
