Blessed with magnificent natural beauty and located in the one most popular and desirable locations in the Western United States, Lake Tahoe is considered the jewel of California. At 6,229 feet above sea level, Lake Tahoe is the highest lake of its size in the United States, measuring 22 miles long by 12 miles wide, with an average depth of 989 feet and 72 miles of shoreline. Its clear blue waters surrounded by the towering Sierras are a sight to behold! Lake Tahoe is truly a treasure, hopefully to be visited by all at some point!
Nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lake Tahoe is home to some of America’s favorite vacation and recreation locations. This was a nice home to stay in. If you decide to stay here, there are a few things you should be aware of:
Things we liked:
* Nice neighborhood and location.
* Nice amenities.
* Well stocked cabin (paper products, soap, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies)
* Heated floors in bathrooms
What we didn't like:
* The internet connection is a very SLOW DSL connection. We were unable to get even 1 Mbps downloads. A couple of people on our trip needed to be in touch with work and were unable to. It was difficult to see resort web cams. Movie night for us consists of streaming from our Roku player. The video was choppy and very low resolution.
* Ventilation. The stove island doesn't have an overhead hood. This resulted in poor ventilation in the kitchen. The popup vent that pulls fumes from the stove area doesn't do a good job and ends up disrupting the stove flames, resulting in unpredictable and inconsistent hot spots in your pans. It also doesn't help remove fumes from the oven area.
* Access to the hot tub is through a guest's bathroom. If that guest is using the bathroom or showering, you can't get to or from the hot tub.
