About Denise & Jack Kedian

Jack and Denise, always in love with the water, have enjoyed a variety of careers before landing at Waters Edge. For Jack, it was mechanical engineering hi-tech strategic alliances. Denise taught high school; was a newspaper reporter, director of publications/PR, and finally, innkeeper at their B&B on Cape Cod Bay. For 14 years, they welcome wonderful guests from all over the world. When it was time to retire, they built At Waters Edge, designed to accommodate guests in their own private space with amazing water views in a unique natural setting. You’ll have to excuse them if they brag a bit about their 2 doctor daughters and 4 hilarious grandchildren who love this special place as much they do.

Denise & Jack Kedian purchased this house in 2011

Guestbook comments from the owner

"At Waters Edge" is a very nice apartment directly located on Great Herring Pond. Because of the glass doors, there is a great view from the apartment directly to the pond. Swimming before breakfast, breakfast on the beach deck, relaxing, kayaking etc. - everything is possible only a stone's throw away.

The location of At Waters Edge is also a good starting point for trips to Historic Plymouth, Boston, and Cape Cod - but the most important thing , why At Waters Edge becomes a special place, is the wonderful hospitality of Denise, Jack and little Missy the Yorkie. Your questions regarding trips, eating places, nice locations to visit etc. are very welcome and there is always time for a nice talk. The little sign over the door says "Come as strangers, leave as friends" is not only words. Thank you for the wonderful time. You'll see us again.

Best vacation we have ever had!

  • 5 of 5

As mature "newlyweds" we were looking for a peaceful spot to extend our honeymoon and WOW! did we find it. We stayed in the beautiful "At Waters Edge" in the rental on the top floors and it was fabulous. The pictures online do not do justice to the beautiful property. Our exquisitely designed bedroom looked out onto the beautiful "pond" which is more like a lake and was delightful to wake up to such a tranquil sight each morning. We especially enjoyed the top floor where we could set in the living room or on the lovely deck and have coffee. And did I mention the deck sitting on the pond and the kayak and paddle boat that was for our use?

Our host Jack and Denise were absolutely there to make us welcome and comfortable. They were there to answer questions as to where we could go for food, entertainment or just to sightsee. At our request They even went to dinner with us one night and showed us the sights around Cape Cod.

We loved it and will return often.

Owner's Response: It was wonderful hosting Betty & Scotty. It was a delight to have them here. It's so heartwarming to have guests who come to love this place as we do.They were so appreciative of everything At Waters Edge offers. It was our pleasure to share that with them. We took them on a boat tour of Great Herring Pond and their smiles and laughter made it so much fun. We hope they find their way back here again to help us enjoy beautiful summer days on the water!

Beautiful Lake Side Home

  • 5 of 5

Denise and Jack have a lovely property where you can kick back and enjoy all the benefits of a beautiful home only steps away from comfy beach seating, kayaking and a splendid lake view (its called a pond but its a very large fresh water lake). We rented the upper apartment which is actually two levels. The master bedroom ( with very nice full bath)spare office/ extra bedroom and small den (with half bath) all on one floor were very spacious and fully accommotating. The upper great room, dining area and kitchen ( with extra full bath) is fantastic along with the best cooking kitchen imaginable if that's your thing. The cooking option is also complemented by a very nice gas grill on the mid level deck. Sit on the sectional in the upper great room and look out over the lake through three large front facing picture windows. Gorgeous views from nearly every vantage point upstairs. You'll feel as though you are outside except the central air will keep you comfortably cool. There is an up to date washer and dryer on the bedroom level for longer stays ( we were there for a month so these came in handy.)The afore- mentioned side deck is actually one story up from the lake, so the viewing experience of either the lake to the front or a beautiful ex- cranberry bog, now pine tree farm to the rear as the sun sets is fantastic. As hosts go, Denise and Jack cannot be more kind or helpful. Early on they pointed us in the right direction (s) as we were new to the area ...and continued to advise as we did our own exploring. If you are looking for comfortable lakeside living in an up to date, beautifully appointed home, this is for you.

Owner's Response: Bill & Jody were the kind of guests you dream about. Cooperative, considerate, and congenial. It is delightful when your guests seem to love your home as much as you do and are kind enough to tell you so. We loved sharing stories with them and will remember the smiles and the laughter. Priceless! THANKS HOMEAWAY for steering them in our direction. We hope they find their way back to At Waters edge again someday.

Owner's Response: The Perfect Guests! Shauna & Justin were a delight to host. They met us with flowers for our anniversary, were warm and fun to talk with. They were very considerate and cooperative about "house rules". They left the place as they found it. Clean and orderly. Our only regret is that we could not keep them for the third week they asked for. We're happy that they are living nearby now, and hope to see tham back At Waters Edge for a boat ride. .

Cozy Paradise <3

  • 5 of 5

I rented this beautiful and charming piece of paradise from the fall and throughout the winter and spring. It is truly a hidden gem all year round. This home is perfectly located in the gateway to cape cod. The layout of the house is divided in two floors and I was fortunate to stay in both, the upper floor provides a sunny, open floor plan, brand new appliances and furnishings, washer/dryer and central air. It has a private beach and a private dock that is a pleasure to wake up to and have breakfast in the mornings overlooking the lake.

The property is clean, exquisitely decorated and well maintained. The owners Denise and Jack are the most genuine and wonderful people! They make you feel like extended family. They truly care and worry that you will be comfortable and taken care of.

Each bedroom is tastefully decorated. The main bedroom is an elegant couples retreat with a queen bed overlooking the lake, I woke up every morning with a beautiful sunlight shining on my face .

For amenities the owners will provide you with kayaks and bikes and occasionally give you a ride in their boat. Thank you so much Jack and Denise for the wonderful stay and I look forward to come back soon.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to have Carlos At Waters Edge. It is so gratifying when a guest loves this place as much as we do. He was so appreciative and enthusiastic about being here, it was wonderful to know he was here when we were away. He took very good care of the place and delight in sharing it when his remarkable son and friends visited. We're looking forward to his return in October.

Privilege to Stay at Herring Pond

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four journeyed to MA for a relaxing 4th of July. We got just that with our vacation. It was a pleasant mix of sight seeing and relaxation. Our children ages 13 and 9 had a blast on the pond/ lake. They loved getting up from their bedrooms and heading out to the dock to swim. The sandy beach was a welcoming place to wade or swim. Jack and Denise have done a great job landscaping the beach area with a dock, deck, and grassy sitting area. Jack and Denise are such gracious hosts. They built a sweet relationship with all of us and have a special place in our hearts. Their gift of hospitality is unparalleled and a rare gift, but both Jack and Denise are so warm and make sure we had the best time during our stay there. Our children cannot wait to return to this place next summer.

The house was so clean and we were greeted by a bottle of wine. Our time was spent being a tourist and also relaxing by the beach. It is a vacation we look back on and are thankful that we had the privilege to stay at such a wonderful place.

Owner's Response: It was truly our privilege to have this family with us. It was so wonderful to know that their son and daughter couldn't wait to get down to the water in the morning. They boated, they swam, played ball in the water and just floated around, relaxing with their Mum & Dad. When our grandsons came for a visit, the 4 kids played as if they'd known each other for years. THey were all so well behaved , clearly having a great experience.Lots of laughter, some splashing and lots of fun. What a joy it was for us to see another family enjoy At Waters Edge as much as we do. Our grandsons are hoping to see them again next summer. They are more than welcome back any time. Their stay here was a very special time or us.

Pearl of Herring Pond

  • 5 of 5

We had the pressure of staying in this beautiful house for 3 weeks. We do not know how would be able to put the beauty of this place into words. You have to go and experience it for yourself to fully comprehend it. Our housemates Denise and Jack were the friendliest and most hospitable hosts ever. They did everything for our convenience and comfort. They were always warm and helpful and we felt at home. Their fine taste and elegance was reflected on the house it made it more dreamy. The boat tour on the pond that you can see from your window as the first thing you see in the morning, was a great adventure and the most delightful time we had there. The location was also a great advantage. It was right at the border of Cape Cod so we could enjoy the Cape without having to deal with the traffic. We would like to thank our dear friends Jack and Denise for everything they have done to make our holiday as perfect as it was. We will never forget that barbecue we had right on the dock on the water.
