About the property

4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 1,750 square feet, sleeps 10 - close to Lake Michigan

PROPERTY OVERVIEW:

Just added to the northwest Michigan vacation home rental market in 2014, Agape Bayside Cottage is a wonderful, very comfortable, bright, and family-friendly bright vacation rental cottage to stay at while enjoying a great family vacation in northern Michigan. The house has been extensively remodeled within the last 10 years and has a bright, beautiful, and modern design that features a lot of light woodwork and a large number of windows that provides exceptional natural lighting and a relaxing, beachy, lake-effect feel to the home. Despite just being added to the vacation rental market, this cottage is already ranked #3 among all 600+ vacation rental cottages in Michigan on Dwellable's Leadership Board for Michigan Vacation Rentals.

The cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and is 1750 square feet in size and 10 adults can sleep here. The living room has a sofa (that opens up to provide a second bed), a reclining chair (great for relaxing after a day at Crystal Mountain), and a flat-screen television with an extended channel package from DirecTV. It also includes free high-speed WiFi (12 Mbps). It has a beautiful, modern, and highly functional kitchen that includes a gas range (cooktop and oven), microwave, coffee pot, numerous pots and pans, dishes, silverware, and cutlery. Outside, there is a gas grill and an outdoor dining table and chairs are provided on the deck and front porch during the summer months. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, including a kids room that has 2 very cute twin beds, and a nice modern baby crib in it. There are 1.5 bathrooms downstairs (each downstairs bathroom has a shower) and a full bathroom upstairs that features a large and wonderful Jacuzzi tub. One of the downstairs bathrooms also includes a very nice washer and dryer.

The property is landscaped with beautiful dunegrass in front of the house, which adds to the relaxing 'lake effect' and beachy feel of the home. Parking is available in the driveway, in the large detached boat garage behind the house, and on the street. Pets are allowed within reason. To allow us to have the home properly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests, we ask that guests check-out by 12:00 PM and that new guests arrive after 4:00 PM.

REGIONAL DESCRIPTION:

The cottage is located at 719 Forest Avenue (M22) in beautiful and historic Frankfort, Michigan, which provides excellent fishing, shopping, dining, hiking, biking, and sunbathing / relaxing on the shore of Lake Michigan on beautiful Frankfort Beach, which is only 0.6 miles from the cottage. While in a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood, it is only 1 block away from Main Street and downtown Frankfort. Relaxing on the beach and enjoying Lake Michigan and the beautiful sunsets on Lake Michigan is probably the most popular activity in town during the summer months. Spectacular Sleeping Bear Dunes is only 30 minutes away and offers a wealth of outdoor activities including hiking, biking, and scenic drives. The cottage is also only 0.2 miles from the Betsie Valley Trail, which provides 22 miles of trails for biking, rollerblading, running, hiking, and snowmobiling.

This rental house is easy to find and is located right on the legendary M22 only 20 minutes from Crystal Mountain. The house is open year-round and during the winter months guests can enjoy skiing / snowboarding at Crystal Mountain Resort or doing some snowmobiling or cross-country skiing in the northwestern corner of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Sleeping Bear Dunes and Frankfort Beach are both open year-round, of course, and the dunes, beaches, and Lake Michigan present their own special beauty during the icy winter months - you just need to dress very warmly when going there in the winter!

COST:

For 2014, between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, the property is available for the following rates:

* $995 per week [1]

* $495 for the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) [1]

* $149 per night for Sundays through Thursdays (2-night minimum)

[1] Note: The cost is $500 more for Fourth of July and Labor Day weeks or weekends.

After Labor Day weekend, the price will be only $399 per week or $99 per night.

These prices all include fresh towels and linens. (You do not need to bring your own towels or sheets.) All cleaning charges are also included in the price. (There are no additional fees or charges.) About Eric Haan

I am a Christian, family-oriented man who owns and operates my own business, Agape Global Investments Corporation. I live in Frankfort with my wife, Karla, and my 2 boys, Pablo and Joshua.

What makes this house unique

This is a beautifully modern property with modern amenities and it is in a great location for exploring Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and all of the wonderful shopping, dining, and activities that the northwestern corner of Michigan's Lower Peninsula has to offer. Your rental of this property also supports a great cause with 10% of all revenue being donated to the start-up and operation of New Covenant Christian Academy, a Christian school for Benzie County, Michigan.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"The cottage was an absolute joy to stay in! We were welcomed to Frankfort by Eric's father, who met us at the house and gave us some information about the town. My dad and I chose this place at the last minute, and we were pleasantly surprised that we were accommodated with less than 24 hours notice. This cottage is a wonderful value for your money--it is within walking distance to downtown and the beach, and the grocery store is only a few blocks away. It's an easy drive to Traverse Bay and Sleeping Bear Dunes and is a great jumping off point if you want to hit all the sights in Western Michigan or if you just want a comfortable and clean place to relax on the beach."

What a fabulous experience!!!

  • 5 of 5

I visit this area every year, this home made the vacation so very special. The house is beautifully equipped with all of the amenities. Walking distance to beach, stores and restaurants. The kitchen is nicely equipped, so I was able to prepare many meals myself, which saves a good bit. Loved the fire pit, nice evenings sitting by the fire. Eric is quick to respond and extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this home.

Comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

The property was comfortable and clean. Stayed cooled despite unseasonably warm weather for Frankfort. The back deck was nice to sit and have dinner. Easy walk to downtown and the beach. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because of parking due to vegetation on the curbside. We would rent this place again!

The biggest attractions in the area are Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Frankfort has a great beach on Lake Michigan with beautiful sunsets. Frankfort is also very popular for fishing for salmon and lake trout on Lake Michigan. There are a number of charter boats in town that are available for hire.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is just north of Lake Michigan and provides incredible, breath-taking camping, hiking, and scenic drives.
