Wish we could have stayed longer! Had a great time, house was very updated and modern, provided pretty much everything needed. Felt like home. Great food and boat rentals close by.
The place was beautiful, beds were comfortable and they provided towels and almost everything we needed in the kitchen since we cooked all our own food. Only major downside was we didn't feel like it was adequately advertised that the bottom floor of this house would be rented to other people and we (sleeping 8) would only have the top 2 floors. We felt like children when the couple from downstairs had to come up and ask us to try and be quieter (at 10pm) because they said they could hear us walking through the creaky floors and that our voices traveled through the vents. We weren't being exceptionally loud or playing any music, just getting ready for bed so not having our own private house like we thought we paid for was very disappointing.
I enjoyed a great weekend away at Queens Perch with my family (grandparents, parents and baby). We enjoyed the freshness of the newly remodeled space as well as the fabulous patio and proximity to the lake. They have thought through all your needs - kitchen tools, baby gear, beverage fridge! We'll definitely be back.
Six of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Queen's Perch. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. Although we couldn't see the lake, it felt like being in a cool treehouse. We visited several state parks nearby and they were all nice, as well.
The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because we were low on the provided necessities (paper towels, soaps, etc.) but I've contacted the managers and I'm sure the situation will be taken care of in the future.
We'd stay here again and will recommend to friends.
The house was very nicely remodeled. The decks were beautiful. It would have been nice to know, before we arrived, that someone lived on the 1st floor of the home. We had full access to the 2nd and 3rd floors and had plenty of room, but not divulging that we would be sharing the home seems irresponsible. Also the sheer curtains in the master bedroom on the east facing window make it impossible to sleep past dawn. Other than that we had a very enjoyable stay.
Beautiful setting close to the lake. While it rained most of our visit and we couldn't use the wonderful decks, we really enjoyed the open common area with lots of windows. Owner was helpful and very responsive when there was an issue in the neighborhood with water pressure. Everything there to make your own meals with a modern kitchen (and a wetbar area if you need more space), or Pottsboro and Denison aren't far away. We really enjoyed Denison and had a wonderful meal there and enjoyed the only winery/brewery that we've heard of. House is great for games or for watching TV, if that suits you. House was clean and we had no problems with our two month old grandson who was one of the guests. I would love to stay there again.
