This home is in a quiet gated community of 19 homes. The surroundings are lush and tropical and we can enjoy the water from our back door.
The gated community offers a tennis court, large lap pool, club house and park. We are just off Alii Drive where all the action is, but you can't hear any noise but ocean surf from the home. With a private swimming pool and each bedroom on a different level, this house provides excellent privacy. Surfing, snorkeling and swimming with Manta's is right behind the house. We are two miles south of Kona Town, so an excellent walk or bike ride gets us there.
(bikes are provided). Or we can kayak to town (two man kayak provided).
Was great. We did a lot of sitting and reading, tucked between sightseeing excursions. The house was perfect for the 3 couples. Very, very nice. Don't miss it. Strongly recommended.
This is a beautiful oceanfront home minutes away from Kona in a quiet, gated community with it's own pool --- perfect size and depth for swimming laps which we enjoyed despite the rainy weather. The great room is completely open with a lovely view of the water and is set up with five different seating areas one of which is the outside deck overlooking the pool. The kitchen is well appointed, large and open to the great room. Though there were only two of us staying in the home we could easily see three couples sharing the property as there are three bedrooms each one on a separate floor two having ensuite bathrooms. We were looking for a home in the Kona area in a quite setting with a private pool and this home was the perfect place!
The house was very beautiful and functional. The view was spectacular and made for a relaxing time. The three bedrooms on separate levels was nice with my grown children. Everyone had there privacy when they needed it. We were able to have many memories. The island is second to none. I would recommend it to anyone. The pool was shallow but worked well. The house was easy to get to and close to shopping and activities. Very few sandy beaches nearby is the only drawback I can think of.
Chris & Greg: Thanks for sharing your wonderful home. Also, thanks for the great communications via phone and text leading up to and during check-in. Everything was just as you described and as we had hoped. We so enjoyed the balcony over looking the ocean as well as the pool. Your instructions were perfect and very helpful. Arrival and departure was as smooth as could be. The location close to Kona restaurants and shopping was perfect for us as we preferred not to drive far after dark. This was our first visit to the Big Island, but I can't imagine staying anywhere else. While we saw a great deal of the island during our stay, we found ourselves just hanging out enjoying the view a fair amount of the time. You can expect to hear form us again when our next trip to the Big Island comes around. Thanks again. Mike & Judy Luther
We had a wonderful time staying in this house. It is a quiet and private. The swimming pool faces the ocean and the private beach area is about 50 feet from the house with a nice grassy area between the beach and the house. My kids saw as much ocean life snorkeling here than in Cook's Cove. (A sea turtle, schools of fish, etc.) The 3 bedrooms are all on different levels of the house so there is little to no noise. The big main floor room is great a great place to hangout -- the design of the house is well thought out. When you arrive, towels are folded, shampoo and soap are there as well as all other amenities. (The only thing we had to buy was facial tissues.) It's about 1.5 miles to downtown Kona, and the best barbecue in Kona is a short walk away. We used the community pool once -- it was completely empty and we had it to ourselves. The few neighbors we saw were friendly but unobtrusive. Chris's next door neighbor actually came over and did a little tree branch grooming near our ocean entry (completely unnecessary) so we met and talked just a bit, a very nice lady. We would come back again.
We were thrilled when we entered our vacation home. It is beautiful and the artwork is gorgeous, hard to believe a beach home. Chris had everything you would need to enjoy your stay in Kona. Chris was great to work with answering any questions and helping in anyway she could to make our stay more enjoyable. We would love to return to The Big Island but a long way from eastern NC.
We loved The Blue Hawaiian helicopter ride. It was wonderful! I am so glad we did the two hour flight over the island to see the lava, rainforests, waterfalls, volcanoes, and the different topography of the island. We loved the beaches and even though different from eastern NC, we found the gorgeous beaches in the Northwest part of the island. We enjoyed shopping at the farmers' market and the area in downtown Kona. The Kona Restaurant was great with Gary and his staff. We also liked Splashers and the luau at The Sheraton. We tried to do it all, but ran out of time.
I would not recommend Jumpys restaurant. We tried to eat there but terrible wait staff and we got up and left the restaurant, something I have never done in my life. I am so glad we went to The Big Island, everyone we met said it was their favorite island in Hawaii. I would definitely recommend booking with Chris and her lovely home. Aloha!!!
