This charming micro-apartment is located on the high 1st (Parlor) floor of a brownstone from the 1890s, on a classic, residential townhouse block in the historic Hamilton Heights neighborhood of West Harlem. The studio faces directly onto a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined street.
This is a private, self contained apartment - you are not sharing.
The apartment is the original parlor (reception area) of the house.
This apartment is adorable, and small. It is the perfect apartment for the person who is looking for a crash pad, to cook small meals, etc and really just wants to sleep and relax in their home while visiting nyc.
Newly renovated space combines modern touches with turn of the century details. This apartment has many late 19th century architectural details including original Victorian window shutters (both upper and lower shutters, to create the privacy or lighting you desire), a beautiful decorative fireplace, lovely moldings around the window and door. Mid-century style furniture with a streamlined look provides style and comfort. These high ceilings (12') are unusual for NYC. The large window looking onto the street level provides soft northern light. The block is quiet but be aware that you face the street and there may be some noise (1st floor).
A re purposed school locker stores your clothes and belongings. Bed linens and towels are provided for your stay.
Stainless steel kitchenette is equipped with all new appliances and the essentials for cooking: french press coffee maker, toaster, blender, and pots and pans. If you find that you are missing something, please ask and i will try to accommodate your request.
Bathroom with shower stall is all that you need. Because of the size of the apartment please note that the bathroom entrance is a heavy curtain, not a solid door.
Because of the small size of this apartment, if you are traveling with another person it is highly recommended that you are very comfortable together as the apartment is very cozy.
Sofabed provides comfortable seating and rolls out into a full size bed for sleeping.
Utilities (heat, hot water, electricity) and WiFi are included in the price. There is no television. If you gave any questions please don't hesitate to let me know. Your security deposit is held by the site, not by me, and is automatically refunded 7 days after you leave if there is no damage.
Hi there! I came to NYC for college (Columbia University) and I never left!!!
Glenn purchased this apartment in 2006
This apartment is a great choice for an individual, or couple. It has everything you need! The ceilings are very high and all of the turn of the century detail is present.
This apartment has charming decorative details that are 120 years old. These include a decorative fireplace, window and door moldings, and beautiful window shutters.
We truly enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was extremely close to two subway locations making it extremely convenient to get to all of our desired destinations. The street this apartment is located on is beautiful and we felt very safe, even at night. Glen was very helpful, generous, and dependable. We would definitely stay here again when we return to NYC!
This apartment had so much character as well as had everything my daughter and I needed for our 2 week stay. It was even bigger and cuter than we expected! Glenn was available for any questions we had. Everything was nearby - subway, restaurants, coffee shop, grocery stores... Will definitely stay here again!
Hamilton Heights is a vibrant, landmarked, residential neighborhood in west Harlem. This area was the former country estate of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States.
