About the property

This apartment is tiny and adorable.

This charming micro-apartment is located on the high 1st (Parlor) floor of a brownstone from the 1890s, on a classic, residential townhouse block in the historic Hamilton Heights neighborhood of West Harlem. The studio faces directly onto a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined street.

This is a private, self contained apartment - you are not sharing.

The apartment is the original parlor (reception area) of the house.

This apartment is adorable, and small. It is the perfect apartment for the person who is looking for a crash pad, to cook small meals, etc and really just wants to sleep and relax in their home while visiting nyc.

Newly renovated space combines modern touches with turn of the century details. This apartment has many late 19th century architectural details including original Victorian window shutters (both upper and lower shutters, to create the privacy or lighting you desire), a beautiful decorative fireplace, lovely moldings around the window and door. Mid-century style furniture with a streamlined look provides style and comfort. These high ceilings (12') are unusual for NYC. The large window looking onto the street level provides soft northern light. The block is quiet but be aware that you face the street and there may be some noise (1st floor).

A re purposed school locker stores your clothes and belongings. Bed linens and towels are provided for your stay.

Stainless steel kitchenette is equipped with all new appliances and the essentials for cooking: french press coffee maker, toaster, blender, and pots and pans. If you find that you are missing something, please ask and i will try to accommodate your request.

Bathroom with shower stall is all that you need. Because of the size of the apartment please note that the bathroom entrance is a heavy curtain, not a solid door.

Because of the small size of this apartment, if you are traveling with another person it is highly recommended that you are very comfortable together as the apartment is very cozy.

Sofabed provides comfortable seating and rolls out into a full size bed for sleeping.

Utilities (heat, hot water, electricity) and WiFi are included in the price. There is no television. If you gave any questions please don't hesitate to let me know. Your security deposit is held by the site, not by me, and is automatically refunded 7 days after you leave if there is no damage.

Perfect, quaint apartment!

We truly enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was extremely close to two subway locations making it extremely convenient to get to all of our desired destinations. The street this apartment is located on is beautiful and we felt very safe, even at night. Glen was very helpful, generous, and dependable. We would definitely stay here again when we return to NYC!

This apartment had so much character as well as had everything my daughter and I needed for our 2 week stay. It was even bigger and cuter than we expected! Glenn was available for any questions we had. Everything was nearby - subway, restaurants, coffee shop, grocery stores... Will definitely stay here again!

Hamilton Heights is a vibrant, landmarked, residential neighborhood in west Harlem. This area was the former country estate of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States. It also contains the famous neighborhood known as Sugar Hill. There are many historical and cultural attractions and sights in the area. Including Hamilton Grange, the Morris-Jumel mansion and blocks filled with beautifully preserved, late 19th century architecture. Nearby parks include St Nicholas Park, Riverside Park (1 block away), and RIverbank State Park, which has its own gym, olympic size pool and track. There is a conveniently located grocery store 1 block away on Broadway/150th. And the much loved NYC supermarket, the Fairway, is on 133rd/12th ave, about a 15 minute walk from the apartment. Here you will find a huge selection of all types of food including imported, specialty and organic.

Harlem Public, a neighborhood favorite for great pub food and atmosphere is just around the corner.

The Chipped Cup Cafe (coffee/pastries) is also less than one block away and has a lovely NYC style garden in the back.

Also nearby in the neighborhood are:

The Grange, on Amsterdam/141st and Coccola, on Amsterdam/139th

Columbia University is 5 min away by subway or a 25 min walk.

Located at 155th and Broadway are:

The Hispanic Society

The American Academy of Arts and Letters

Public transportation is plentiful with the 1/A/B/C/D subway lines at 145th street (the A/D are express trains) and buses on both Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues. The nearest A,B,C,D train entrance is on St. Nicholas Avenue between 148th and 147th streets. It is just 2 express (A,D) stops away to get to Columbus Circle/lower Central Park (12-15 min), 3 stops to Times Square (15-18 min) and 5 stops to Chelsea/Greenwich Village (20-22 min).
