My famliy and I are originally from Florida and are naturally drawn to the water and boating. But the spectacular beauty of WA, has us hooked. Coupeville and our home speaks to these two very different settings-to be able to have water views and go boating under the backdrop of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains is truly stunning.
We love all the outdoor activities Whidbey Island has to offer, but even more the family memories we have made just relaxing in our home.
We chose Coupeville for its charm and seaside feel. My husband grew up in coastal CT and the town itself really reflects this past. To feel so far away, yet only an hour and half from downtwon Seattle was also a big draw for us. We love Ebey's Landing and think Deception Pass is one of the prettiest places we have ever seen.
Our home is 2 blocks from historic downtown Coupeville, allowing us convenience, yet the home itself is so quaint and hsitoric we feel miles from anywhere, like we have stepped back in time. The access to the boat ramp and public park across the street have been very helpful. We love taking our coffee and dog early in the morning down to the waterfront and strolling on the beach.
We recently stayed here 3 nights:- two small families together and this was perfect for us. The home's decor is very relaxing. One bathroom was just fine for our gang, no issues at all. Walking distance from the charming town of Coupeville -- with nice restaurants, ice cream and candy shop for the kids, and beach-combing. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I stayed in this lovely house for three nights prior to taking the ferry to Port Townsend. The location is quiet, with a nice water view, especially from the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen is super, large and well equipped; the large washer & dryer was a big plus. There is a really nice big back yard, which we didn't use, but the many windows afforded great views of playful (and sleepy) deer wandering through the property daily.
The house itself is very old (historical site) but has been well maintained. The only bathroom is downstairs, with the two bedrooms upstairs, so one must be very careful heading down the steep stairs during the night (watch your head, the ceilings at the top are made for tiny people!). We knew there wasn't a fireplace prior to renting, but having one would have made the living room even more perfect, especially on chilly nights.
The house is a great base for long walks throughout the countryside; we also walked to dinner every night through the very safe-feeling neighborhood, and Christopher's was our favorite restaurant.
Suzanne was very responsive, and the family pictures around the house makes the house feel very welcoming. We will be back!.
we had a lovely time at the house. especially nice is that the house is so close to town. it would have been nice if there was a pack'n'play, which i thought there was... but there wasn't.
We had such a fun stay. The town was cute and the house was even cuter. It was a cozy place to have a Bachelorette weekend.
We loved the cute cottage. The views were great, the booth in the kitchen was a wonderful gathering spot. The house had plenty of room and lots of games and books to use.
Unfortunately, while this is a nice house with a good view in a good location in Coupeville, I cannot recommend renting from the owner as she engages in dishonest business practices. We had agreed on a base price per night plus a cleaning fee. Unfortunately, I overpaid via VRBO. When I made a spreadsheet with the math showing the owner that she owed me $140 based on the number of nights I stayed and the agreed upon fees, she refused to pay it back despite multiple requests. I had to submit the issue to VRBO with an undetermined resolution.
across the street from boat ramp, one block from childrens playground and park, 2 blocks form downtown shopping and dining
