Hiked, Fished, Relaxed and Relived our childhood.

  • 5 of 5

We caught the change in seasons and more than 20 pike! My wife and I reveled in childhood memories of fishing in Canada. The Northerns! Amazing! The cabin has gigantic windows and you can captured the outdoor colors or the stars above while staying warm and cozy in front of the fire in this rustic cabin. The kitchen, and rooms are clean. It is more of a hunting cabin with the deer mounts and hunting and fishing decor.

Wonderful Vacation on Wiley Lake in Cable WI!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Rogan's Retreat on Wiley Lake in Cable was peaceful and relaxing. It is exactly what we were seeking! Our family of four and dog found all the comforts we needed in the lakeside cabin and are leaving with our collective batteries recharged.

The cabin is located about 3 hours NE from Minneapolis, so it is far enough to truly "get away"! There is plenty of privacy so you feel completely immersed in nature. Most of the time, we felt as though we were the only one's on the lake! Each morning the view from the cabin inspired us to enjoy the outdoors. The fishing was very good and we caught our fair share of large-mouth bass and northern pike. The lonely sounds of loons and majesty sight of a soaring bald eagle marked the end to every day as the sun set. Popcorn and s'mores were the snacks of choice as we read our books, assembled our puzzle, or played a board game. And you must take some time to look through the selection of books that adorn the cabin shelves! There is sure to be something there for everyone!

Cable is small, but don't overlook a visit to some of the local shops and cafes, it is definitely worth your time. Be sure to stop at The Brick House for a sandwich, tea or coffee, and slice of one of their cakes. It is delicious!

We took a very nice day trip to Bayfield with a ferry ride to Madeline Island. We casually explored the boutiques and shoppes for some local treasures. Another day we traveled just a little south to Hayward for their Monday Flea Market and Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.

If you are looking for a rustic and relaxing get-away, then Rogan's Retreat cabin and Northern Wisconsin is the place for you. And Molly, who you will interact with to make the reservations, is simply the best! She is super flexible and will help you make your stay enjoyable!

Peaceful and Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

There is something very peaceful, magical and wonderful about this cabin. I feel like I have gone back to another time.

We have stayed here twice now, two falls in a row. We like to get up early and watch the wildlife from a warm seat in the cabin. We love the quiet, the solitude and the very old books!

I am always very sad when our time is done. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed at and hope to be back again!

If you want peace and quiet and love old books and old things in general, this place is for you!
