Chimney Rock Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Call or email for Special Rates! This charming 1000 square foot cottage is private, quaint, welcoming and exceptionally clean. Come sit on the back decks and enjoy over 200’ of private creek frontage, cook hot dogs and marshmallow at the campfire, or sit on the double swing overlooking our two small waterfalls and relax on a half acre of frontage on Hickory Creek. We like to boast that we have one of the best view of the Creek and Hickory Nut Gorge and surrounding mountains. Discover the magic of Hickory Nut Gorge and Chimney Rock!

Chimney Rock Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or small gatherings of up to 6 people. The Cottage has one king-size bed, a double bed in the second bedroom, a queen-size sofa bed in living room, a Franklin stove with gas logs, three AC window units, Washer and Dryer, fully equipped kitchen (except no dishwasher), televisions, DVD players and outdoor grill.

Guests love to share breakfast on the deck at the intimate Creekside table for 2 and watch the sun dance over the small double waterfalls below. There's also a larger outdoor picnic table for additional seating. Beyond the deck, an inviting boardwalk beckons you to enjoy nature's playground of over half an acre of shady woods and creek frontage in a park-like setting. The crystal clear waters of Hickory Nut Creek are perfect for wading, fishing or just splashing around to cool off after a hot day. The less adventuresome can laze away the day in the hammock, lulled to sleep by the rushing water sounds of the creek, just a stone's throw away. In the evenings, it's a cottage tradition to gather around the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and sharing a picnic supper down by the creek.

We would also highly recommend that you visit Chimney Rock State Park for hiking and the town of Chimney Rock for gem mining, shopping, eating, especially ice cream, which are only a 3 minute drive from the cottage; Asheville, only 20 miles from the cottage is fantastic for shopping, dining and entertainment. Charming Hendersonville also has a quaint f=downtown and variety of shopping, dining and entertainment and is a quick 15 minute drive. Explore too while you are here the beautiful Lake Lure a 7 minute drive with 360 degree panorama views, fine dining, a manmade beach and water slide, rent a boat or bring your own and of course fishing.

Finally, after a full day exploring this beautiful area, fall asleep at the end of the day to the sounds of rushing Hickory Nut Creek which can be heard from every room in the cottage. As our guests often note at the end of their stay, 'Chimney Rock Cottage was all you said it would be . . . and more.'

The Creekside Cottage was perfect. It had everything we needed and was located conveniently to Asheville, Lake Lure, and other cities. The creek with the eye waterfalls behind the property made it so clam and relaxing. We spent a lot of time on the porch just listening to the running water. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

This was our second trip to creekside cottage and it was just as peaceful and relaxing as the first. We brought friends this time who enjoyed the location and accommodations as much as we did. We will definitely return.

Creekside cottage is a clean, quiet, homey environment. The kitchen has all the appliances/utensils.

There were not any surprises when we walked in the door. It was exactly as described only the view was better! Great view of creek from kitchen table. You can fish & wade in it, so clean. No problems using wifi & tv. There are videos & books, washer & dryer.

The location is very convenient. Well under 20 minutes to Chimney Rock & Hendersonville in the other direction. Biltmore about 35 minutes. There is much to do in that area. Locals are friendly & helpful. The history of Bat Cave is intriguing.

We enjoyed nightly campfires, home cooked meals, & good, clean drinking water from the sink!

I recommend Creekside Cottage for your home away from home.

Just what we needed.

  • 5 of 5

We spent the weekend relaxing on the porch just above the mountain stream, sitting by the fire pit, fly fishing and just shutting our eyes and listening to the sounds of nature. The cottage was extremely clean and comfortable. We are a little depressed we have to leave today but we will return.

Great Anniversary Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to creekside cabin to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. We could not be more pleased. The house was extremely clean and inviting. We are actually still here. I am sitting on the back deck looking/listening to the stream. Tonight we will grill out and sit by the fire. I have already booked a return visit next month. I will let all my friends and family know about this little piece of heaven in the mountains. I feel refreshed.

Though still somewhat of a hidden gem, Rumbling Bald Climbing Access is considered to be world-class bouldering and technical rock climbing with some of the best terrain in the Southeast. It contains an estimated 1,500 bouldering problems that are easily accessible in this non-fee section of Chimney Rock State Park. The most popular climbing seasons are fall and winter.

A new half-mile hiking trail from the parking area to the climbing area was completed in December 2012 with the help of a group of local volunteers, including the Carolina Climbers Collation, Friends of Chimney Rock State Park and Carolina Mountain Club. Visitors may park in the designated parking area located off Boys Camp Road. Cars should not be parked along the entrance drive, on the grass or along the wooden bollards. Additional parking is available at the Town of Lake Lure's municipal parking lot on Hwy 64/74A, from which you can carpool. For directions and the latest information, visit
