Overview

Asheville Area Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

Call or email for Special Rates! This charming 1000 square foot cottage is private, quaint, welcoming and exceptionally clean. Come sit on the back decks and enjoy over 200’ of private creek frontage, cook hot dogs and marshmallow at the campfire, or sit on the double swing overlooking our two small waterfalls and relax on a half acre of frontage on Hickory Creek. We like to boast that we have one of the best view of the Creek and Hickory Nut Gorge and surrounding mountains. Discover the magic of Hickory Nut Gorge and Chimney Rock!

Chimney Rock Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or small gatherings of up to 6 people. The Cottage has one king-size bed, a double bed in the second bedroom, a queen-size sofa bed in living room, a Franklin stove with gas logs, three AC window units, Washer and Dryer, fully equipped kitchen (except no dishwasher), televisions, DVD players and outdoor grill.

Guests love to share breakfast on the deck at the intimate Creekside table for 2 and watch the sun dance over the small double waterfalls below. There's also a larger outdoor picnic table for additional seating. Beyond the deck, an inviting boardwalk beckons you to enjoy nature's playground of over half an acre of shady woods and creek frontage in a park-like setting. The crystal clear waters of Hickory Nut Creek are perfect for wading, fishing or just splashing around to cool off after a hot day. The less adventuresome can laze away the day in the hammock, lulled to sleep by the rushing water sounds of the creek, just a stone's throw away. In the evenings, it's a cottage tradition to gather around the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and sharing a picnic supper down by the creek.

We would also highly recommend that you visit Chimney Rock State Park for hiking and the town of Chimney Rock for gem mining, shopping, eating, especially ice cream, which are only a 3 minute drive from the cottage; Asheville, only 20 miles from the cottage is fantastic for shopping, dining and entertainment. Charming Hendersonville also has a quaint f=downtown and variety of shopping, dining and entertainment and is a quick 15 minute drive. Explore too while you are here the beautiful Lake Lure a 7 minute drive with 360 degree panorama views, fine dining, a manmade beach and water slide, rent a boat or bring your own and of course fishing.

Finally, after a full day exploring this beautiful area, fall asleep at the end of the day to the sounds of rushing Hickory Nut Creek which can be heard from every room in the cottage. As our guests often note at the end of their stay, 'Chimney Rock Cottage was all you said it would be . . . and more.'

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

This quaint little house along the creek side was just what we needed to get away from all life's worries. The cabin itself was clean and decorated with antiques and quirky signs throughout. we had everything we needed from coffee to firewood in the fire pit (although it rained and we didn't get to use it). The location was very convenient to Chimney Rock and a short drive to Lake Lure also. The back porch was a perfect place to sit, sip on wine, and listen to the rushing creek. All in all this cabin was exactly what we were looking for and we will definitely be returning for more visits in the future.

The pictures do not do this property justice!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this property inside and out! The cottage was clean, no musty smell, no dampness in the air, and provided more essentials than we expected. The first walk outside absolutely blew us away! The waterfalls and views of the creek were incredible. We used the outdoor space more than the indoor because even with 90 degree days the shady back yard and ice cold creek created the most comfortable environment with no sweating (& that is coming from an eight month pregnant lady (: ) We will definitely be back and look forward to dealing with the owners again because they were awesome. Do yourself a favor & escape to this little slice of paradise!

4th stay at Creekside Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Every spring/summer for the past four years we have spent our vacation at the Creekside Cottage. Everything about the place is beautiful. It is quaint, cozy, and feels like a home away from home. The kids enjoy the wading pools, my husband enjoys the hammock, and I enjoy photographing nature. I am a photographer and love this place so much we decided to shoot our family picture on the land before we left. it is now hanging on my wall so I can enjoy a little piece of our favorite place in the world each day. We cannot wait to return. We were talking about what we will do when our boys marry and we go over the limit of 6 people! I see us staying at the cottage each year for MANY years to come. Thank you for opening your home to us yet again.

This is the perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Just wanted to share information on the beautiful place that we truly enjoyed. The house was very clean, the outside was amazing especially the back deck, with the sound of the water going on and relaxing you as you have a refreshing drink and especially in the morning time having your first cup of coffee. We especially enjoyed fishing in the waters very quite at night, the king size bed was so comfortable. The owner responded quickly and was very helpful..We will be booking this cabin in the future very soon....Thank you again for the memories....

Though still somewhat of a hidden gem, Rumbling Bald Climbing Access is considered to be world-class bouldering and technical rock climbing with some of the best terrain in the Southeast. It contains an estimated 1,500 bouldering problems that are easily accessible in this non-fee section of Chimney Rock State Park. The most popular climbing seasons are fall and winter.

A new half-mile hiking trail from the parking area to the climbing area was completed in December 2012 with the help of a group of local volunteers, including the Carolina Climbers Collation, Friends of Chimney Rock State Park and Carolina Mountain Club. Visitors may park in the designated parking area located off Boys Camp Road. Cars should not be parked along the entrance drive, on the grass or along the wooden bollards. Additional parking is available at the Town of Lake Lure's municipal parking lot on Hwy 64/74A, from which you can carpool. For directions and the latest information, visit www.ncparks.gov
