Our condo was just lovely. Great location. View was spectacular. All the comforts of home, yet at the beach. Porch needed a good cleaning and new furniture. Would love to have a couple of chairs for beach available too. Over all a beautiful place to stay.
Not as described
I received a message that the washing machine was to be serviced on Monday prior to arrival. Unfortunately, the washing machine was completely shot and we were without a washing machine THE ENTIRE WEEK we were there. Beachside offered to clean our clothes, picking them up, drying, and returning. I do not trust others to wash my bathing suits and clothing. Putting delicates in a dryer would ruin them. I also did not want to have someone randomly enter my unit without being there. They also could not give us a time when the repairman would arrive. Monday he arrived at 3:30 pm only to tell us the unit would most likely need to replaced and that they would come on Tuesday to do it. No one showed on Tuesday. On Wednesday a man arrived to "measure the space" for a new unit and advised us we would most likely NOT get the machine in before we left. An offer was made to allow us to use a washing machine "next door", which ended up being Seascape and required walking through a parking lot 4" deep in water to get there... on the third floor. We asked for a laundry basket, were told it was on the way, and two hours later it arrived. We allowed Beachside to wash towels and t shirts, which they returned within two hours, but did NOT return the laundry basket. We gave up at this point.
In addition, the kitchen area is so small that only one person can enter at a time. The refrigerator door will only open part way, and the left vegetable drawer will only open about 4"... pretty much useless. The dishwasher also will only open about half way due to hitting the refrigerator!
We also had a random air conditioning man show up on Thursday to "inspect" our unit, stating he had an order in that it wasn't working properly. We advised him that it was working fine but he asked to come in anyway.
This was our first foray into Wild Dunes, visiting IOP over 35 years. We usually stay on Ocean Blvd but had only a two week window to plan. Not sure I will ever stay at Wild Dunes again.
too many hidden fees in the cost. the condo was old and in need of repair. the screened porch needed a thorough cleaning. I will never book through VRBO again.
Great location with exceptional views.
Sofa sleeper needs a new mattress.
On the beach!
Condo was perfect size for my husband and I. It was VERY clean and was fully stocked with kitchen items and even dish soap, paper towels etc. It is literally on the beach! Nothing between you and the beach. Thr beach is busy but not crowded! It was perfect. The pool looked nice but we stayed on the beach and never used the pool. We will be back next year! A couple small items that would be nice, more towel hooks in the bathroom and better patio furniture. We like to sit on the patio at night and the furniture isn't that comfortable also the strings on a couple blinds are broken so you couldn't pull up but you could still twist to open. These are minor things... we will book again!
Oceanfront views and easy access to the beach
My husband and I stayed at 204F with our 2 small children (ages 4 and 7). It worked well with us letting the kids bunk on the fold out sofa bed. As a previous review mentioned it could use a bit better padding but it was just fine for our kids. There is a twin daybed in the entry way but we didn't use it since it sits pretty high from the floor. Overall, the condo was nicely maintained and clean. You can't beat the view and easy access to the beach with small kids in tow. I believe this is one of the best buildings given the view. Booking this condo went without a hitch as well, ready right at 4 pm when we arrived! They even provided some supplies to get you started for the dishwasher/washer/dryer and toiletries for the bathroom. With all the activities in the surrounding areas: Sullivan's Island, Mount Pleasant and Charleston, we will definitely be back! We liked that it was in the gated area in Wild Dunes since it gives more privacy from the public areas further down the beach. You will need to drive most places for food etc. with small kids but we enjoyed doing that to take a break from the beach. One tip: be sure to check the trunk in the entry way - it has all kinds of beach essentials! We brought our own chairs, umbrella and toys and we didn't notice it until our last day as we were leaving.
