Why Sue Goldsmith chose Parkside
Location, location, location! After living in the country, when our children left home, we downsized and moved into the city. We fell in love with the charm of our Victorian building and being in downtown Portland where everything is convenient and exciting!

Best VRBO ever
We have stayed in many VRBOs in the US and Europe, and this was the most fun. Our hosts, Barry & Sue, made it a special trip. We arrived at 1 am, and the key was in the mailbox; there were chocolates and coffee waiting for the next day - and fresh flowers. The place is small, but offers everything you could want. The towels were soft, the sheets smelled wonderful, the water was hot! This was a great place to visit Portland - even though it was 30 degrees and windy. I would recommend this studio apartment to any couple wanting a great place to stay; congenial hosts; and comfort .
Thanks so much for the great review! We loved meeting you and Tom! We're so glad you enjoyed Portland! You will always be welcome here:)
Cozy and perfect hideaway
This spot is situated in a great, quiet location in Portland. You can walk to the Portland Museum or grab a ride to the heart of the downtown shopping district in 5 minutes. The apartment was perfectly clean and very nicely appointed with lovely art, abundant fluffy towels, a comfortable bed, and all the kitchen utensils you need. Barry and Sue gave us a very warm welcome on an absolutely frigid evening and they provided freshly ground coffee for the next morning. So thoughtful! They were great hosts and I'd definitely rent here again.
Thanks for your review, Kitty! Hope our paths will cross again!
The property is lovely- a quaint Victorian in the heart of the arts district of Portland
We absolutely loved our stay here and hope to return every year. Sue and Barry were wonderful with loads of recommendations. The apartment was perfect with a small kitchenette stocked with coffee and cream and little snacks. The bed was comfortable with lots of wonderful natural light- and what an amazing bathroom! We were in walking distance to everything if you don’t mind a bit of a walk. But close by we ate at Hot Suppa and had fabulous drinks at brumhall. Really this apartment is the perfect stay in Portland. We were there for three nights. Each morning we had coffee and relaxed - it really felt like home. I highly recommend it.
You will always be welcome here:) So glad you enjoyed yourselves! We’re here at Bramhall on your recommendation!!
Our hosts, Sue and Barry, were so gracious and friendly. Right from the start, they provided helpful tips and recommendations for restaurants and shops. The room was just as advertised...comfortable bed, new bathroom (great shower), kitchenette. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect including providing fresh flowers, coffee and snack. Great communication leading up to and during our stay. We'll definitely return on our next visit! John & Maureen
It was wonderful to meet you and Maureen:) We loved talking with you and getting to know you:) We would love for you to come back!!!
My husband and I spent 3 nights in this rental vacationing. It was close to shops, restaurants, and parks. The bed was comfortable and the rental was very clean. Sue and Barry are very accommodating and readily available while still respecting your privacy. The small touches they provided (fresh coffee and flowers, other local goodies) made us feel welcome and special! I would 100% recommmend this rental.
Thanks so much! You're always welcome in our home:)
Great location with plenty of walking opportunities to activities.
The owners were fantastic from the beginning. Shared info on the apartment and the neighborhood. Nicely appointed studio with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Sue and Barry had treats and fresh flowers in our room. Fresh coffee and cream made mornings a pleasure. They made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be back!!!
Thanks for the wonderful review! We loved meeting you both and know our paths will cross again:)
