Nice place to get away!

  • 5 of 5

John was very helpful with our stay and flexible. There was a lot of good communication and the place looked like the photos. Modern and in excellent condition! Well secluded and quiet.

There are a few things to know about that I missed:

There is no garbage disposal, so all trash needs to go out in the bin. You need to take all your trash out to the main entrance (no bins outside).

There is a hot tub on the back deck but it does not work.

There is a fee for your car and to use the's in the listing but I didn't realize it until after booking. The beach does not allow pets. You will need to go to the main entrance first to get your pass to get to the house.

Be sure to bring your own toiletries, including paper towels.

Bring a flashlight if you walk around at night outside (we had a dog and did walk him at night) is dark!

It was perfect for our little family and timing. Close to all the resorts (ski and others Kalahari/Camelback, etc.).

Poconos Chalet

  • 3 of 5

We stayed at this Pocono Chalet Memorial Day weekend 2017. Our first impressions of the property were overall positive, though the endeavor to actually enter the lake community was quite cumbersome. There was a huge line at the security office and, because of a damaged bridge, actually getting to the property required another 25 minute journey through the community. Neither of these issues are the owner's fault, so I won't deduct any points, but fellow travelers be warned that the security office was not the easiest to deal with.

The property itself was overall mostly acceptable. The outdoor porch was a very nice feature, though standard chairs would have been more comfortable than the picnic table. Standard chairs would have also been movable so that we could have sat around the fire pit at night.

The kitchen was a bit dated and had an odd mishmash of utensils and tools. Some of the decor was also dated. Regardless of the decor, the biggest issue we had with this property was broken items. For instance, we discovered there was a hot tub (how cool!), only to be advised that it did not work. The second night we attempted to grill burgers and hotdogs, only to find out the grill did not work properly. The WiiU also did not work.

Other issues included a terribly uncomfortable bed in the master/loft bedroom, leaky showers, spotty hot water, and WiFi that constantly needed to be reset. Finally, the photo of the lake included on the site was misleading - the property was nowhere near the lake, which was disappointing.

All of that aside, it was a fine house for our purposes. It was very nice to hang out with our friends and be able to include our dog. The owner was quite responsive and nice to deal with.

My family and I had the most wonderful stay at this pristine little chalet. It was the perfect size for me, hubby, son, daughter-in-law and 3 year old grandson. The layout of the house is open and airy. Clean Clean Clean! The beds are SO comfortable and they have everything you need including aero beds, gas grill, picnic bench, pots, pans, knives, forks...literally everything. There is a nice deli very close by and a full sized supermarket not far away. The pools were fun and clean and the lake we went to was pristine. The "Florida Room" is right off the deck where there is a huge hot tub and the room is all tile with a fireplace! GREAT for winter dips and then a warm cozy place to come in to. This house made our vacation, in every way, more enjoyable. Plus, my daughter-in-law said the owners were very easy to work with and were extremely helpful.
