About Sue Goldsmith

Native Mainers, Barry and I moved back to Maine from California in 1994 to raise our children. Barry is a Property Manager and also teaches CPR and First Aid. I am a jazz singer and perform American Standards at many local venues.

Sue Goldsmith purchased this apartment in 2013

Why Sue Goldsmith chose Portland

Location, location, location! After living in the country, when our children left home, we downsized and moved in to the city. We fell in love with the charm of our Victorian building and being in Portland, where everything is convenient and exciting!

What makes this apartment unique

Because we live on the premises, we are committed to providing a wonderful vacation experience for our guests. We honor your privacy, but are available with helpful hints and suggestions.

Beautiful little apartment in a great location of Portland. Welcoming and helpful owners!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is adorable, well outfitted, beautifully appointed and in a great location; easy walking distance to many great restaurants, music venues, pubs and shops. We were very comfortable and totally loved our little vacation in Portland! The owners, Sue and Barry, are just delightful - they were so welcoming, informative, and had even left little goodies for us to enjoy - including great coffee, cream, chocolate, and blueberry jam. We highly recommend this apartment and look forward to another stay sometime in the future!

Absolutely 5plus stars!

  • 5 of 5

My daughters, Ramona and Rebecca and I spent an entire week in this fantastic apartment in the heart of everything that is Portland. I agree with all the other posters that you couldn't find two greater hosts. Barry even drove us around the city one day so we could get our bearings, since none of us has a good sense of direction.

I had been to Portland a number of times before. My family vacationed on Cliff Island and Great Diamond for 3 or 4 years and always made excursions into Portland. But we never really saw it the way we did this time around.

The apartment is in the greatest location, close to everything. We did a lot of walking and a lot of eating and a lot of shopping. All great.

You must visit the PEI Portland Museum of Art and be sure to check out General Grant's statue, which was a "reject". How lucky for Portland to have it.

We can't really add anything to the review since so many have already articulated how we felt about this apartment and the owners. We would just be redundant.

Take our word for it; you will be happy here.

Sue, we listened to the CD on the way home. It is wonderful. You are a special lady and you both are a special couple.

Enjoy Portland in the wintertime. I'll bet it is absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for everything.

Excellent Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Sue and Barry's for four days. They are a super couple and so easy to deal with. Barry met us at the stairs as we came up them and Sue joined him later to show us the apartment and also to tell us about the area. We have been to Portland before, but they told us about some of the local things to see and do.

The apartment is super clean and well appointed. It is on a quiet side street with parking on a small lot across the street, but very handy. We went to some of the local restaurants they suggested which were not in the Commercial street area since we had been in that area previously. They were excellent suggestions.

We would not hesitate to stay here again.
