Great house, great location, beautiful leafy neighborhood, right in the middle of historic Cotuit village. WALK this vacation to the local market, restaurant, robe beach, marina , baseball game or just for pleasure to see more beautiful gardens and historic homes. The main house is a piece of real Americana, a 1901 'Montgomery Ward kit house,' and was renovated with sensibility and furnished with understated elegance. Extremely charming cottage in a spacious garden setting provides additional comfort for a large party. Guests can rent just the house, just the cottage (HomeAway # 3805103) or both together. Both properties have their own entrances and their own driveways (the cottage is accessible from Piney Road), and guests can come and go without disturbing one another. The house and the cottage feature completely modernized and re-conceptualized kitchens and dining areas (work completed in the spring of 2014). The house has a deck and a screened porch for enjoying the morning paper or an evening sundowner, while the cottage has a brick patio under an elegant white pergola. Both structures have cozy interiors that combine new and classic elements into a harmonic whole. Every vacation should offer the vacationer ample opportunity to get that rest s/he so richly deserves, and you will find all the bedrooms beckoning you to sink between the sheets. Younger kids will enjoy the bunk beds or the sleep loft in the main house, and don't forget there is a crib for the smallest ones -- with a convenient changing table -- in the master suite (but not in the same room with Mom and Dad!). Families with children will find a variety of board games, Duplo sets, books and classic kid movies. The custom-built playhouse and swing in this tranquil street will be appreciated as well. It goes without saying that a large assortment of beach gear, sports items, beach toys, bicycles, and even two kayaks are included. Finally, let's not forget Cotuit's uncrowded beaches (that convey that 'private' feel), nor should we forget the shopping and dining opportunities at Mashpee Common, or, for that more everyday mix, at the intersection of Route 28 and Putnam Avenue.

The property was very cared for with lovely landscaping.
I appreciated the attention to detail & the comfy interior design. Mariam & Craig were very responsive to all my requests. The only suggestion I have which would have improved my stay was the sleeping arrangements. The sleeping arrangements stated it slept nine. It truly only sleeps eight. One bunk bed has a limit of 132 pounds which can only accommodate a small child. I also would’ve liked to know whether the beds were Queens or Full size. The single beds are also really suited for younger children, not older teenagers. But overall, we had a lovely weekend & enjoyed ourselves very much.
Thank you very much for your review and the Oort unity to describe the sleeping arrangements again.
The reason why it said it sleeps 9 is simple: it is a family house and we would never rent it to 9 adults only. Most of requests come from two related couples with children or multigeneration family.
We have a master suit (bedroom, walk through dressing room and bathroom) with a quite comfortable full sized bed. Second bedrooom has a queen sized bed and a built-in closet and third bedrooom has a bunk bed and a trundle bed - so four regular twin size spring mattraces total (purchased 2 months ago with life time warranty and five star rating). This bedroom is mostly used by children or grandparents.
The bed arrangements and bed sizes are stated in “description”properly on the Vrbo site.
Charming Cotuit Home
Definitely a home away from home. The house was beautifully decorated and stocked beyond my imagination. Personal clothing was all that was needed. My family and I loved it.
Extended Family Birthday Celebration
Great historic home, close to everything (modest) Cotuit has to offer.
Clean home; responsive owner. We had a great week end despite lousy weather.
One suggestion: update window shades
It was my pleasure meeting you and a special honor meeting your 100 year old birthday girl - your mom. What a lady!
I am very sorry for the bedroom window shades, I also noticed that they were not working, but only after you left. They have been already replaces.
Wish you all the best,
Beautiful quintessential New England rental
Craig and Miriam's place is just wonderful. It feels like we borrowed a friends house for the week. The owners have put so much love into their home. We enjoyed every minute and our daughter did too.
We stayed here in late August, 2016 for a week. Three adults and three children (8, 5, 3) and the house accommodated everyone well. The property and grounds are in great condition - lots of beautiful flowers - the owners really have done an excellent job updating and maintaining the property. The kitchen is modern, bright, nice and big and was perfect for cooking regular meals and serving a large group. The location is excellent. It's a 2 minute to drive to Loop Beach, a nice little beach in Cotuit. It's about 20-25 minutes to Kalmus beach in Hyannis or Woodneck beach in Falmouth - our other 2 favorite stomping grounds. Cotuit itself is a nice, quiet village in Cape Cod. There's not a ton to do there, but if you're looking for the quintessential seaside, Cape Cod experience, it's perfect, and you're only 10-20 minutes from plenty of good attractions in Mashpee/Hyannis/Falmouth. I'd recommend the property and will probably stay there again in the future. Also, the owners are nice, responsive, and very easy/pleasant to deal with.
Beautiful well maintained property
We have stayed at the Everhart's home for the past two summers in July and have enjoyed the property and location. The property has wonderful character with a very pleasant atmosphere and a panache of a French flavor. The screened in porch is a must in the evening for a glass of wine, a good book and playing games with the family. The gardens and backyard are very private and filled with colorful flowers and gardens. The backyard is spacious and private and complimented our annual family oyster feast. Location is an A+ as you are just a short walk from the Kettle Ho; local restaurant and watering hole and the village market "Cotuit Market"; (aka...The Coop) is less than a half mile pleasant The library and gardens are just 3/10th of a mile away as well. Just a great property and location for a family vacation.
Elegant, historic Cotuit is one of the Cape's best-kept secrets: if you want to avoid the traffic crush of Route 28 with its endless succession of tourist traps, if you truly want to relax, consider Cotuit. It has everything you think a Cape town should have, in an elegant and stately setting. There is a string of small beaches down the east side of the peninsula (on Cotuit Bay), while larger beaches are quickly reached by car. 10 miles in either direction and you're at the Steamship Authority ferries in Wood's Hole (Martha's Vineyard) and Hyannis (Nantucket). Ready to shop? Trendy Mashpee Common features a wide mix of name-brand chains and boutiques. A more traditional mall awaits you in Hyannis. 10 miles to the northwest, in Sandwich, don't miss the Glass Factory or Heritage Museum and Plantation.
