About Ryan Baker

I'm a self employed business owner that purchased this home back in 2007. I loved to go up to the mountains three or four times a year to get away from the city. It's serene, quiet, and has a beautiful surround! Please take advantage of it!

Ryan Baker purchased this cabin in 2007

Why Ryan Baker chose Big Bear

Living in the city can be quite loud at times so the location of our place is SUPER QUIET! I've fixed it up so pets can enjoy this place, as well. If you love to Snowboard & Ski this is the spot! Just far enough away from traffic and close enough to the slopes, as well as many restaurants that you can visit in the mountain!

What makes this cabin unique

RELAXATION & COMFORT! Sometimes it's so quiet that you can here the house creek at night, The wind howling through the trees, & the critters running around in the neighborhood!

Great location great property!

  • 4 of 5

Stayed for Labor Day weekend 2016. Great location, about 2 minutes from an awesome trailhead for hiking. We've stayed in Sugarloaf before and we absolutely love this are. There is a small general store and a bar and restaurant that is walking distance from the property. The views are really nice and the neighborhood is tranquil. All of the pictures are accurate as well as the descriptions. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star rating is because we had 7 light bulbs go out within the first 2 hours of being on the property. We replaced all of them but it was inconvenient. Also, the dining table is only 4 seats and it is extremely small at that. There were no other available chairs to use at the table which was irritating. We only had 6 of us so while our sleeping accomodations were adequate trying to have a family meal was difficult. There are plenty of board games and the cable is not bad. We had a few ants in the kitchen when we got here as well, we got some spray and they didn't return. The house was really clean and I would definitely recommend to people I know.

Perfect for our little family!

  • 4 of 5

We (me, husband, baby, toddler, and dog) stayed in this cabin for 5 nights and really enjoyed it! The pictures and reviews were accurate. I always appreciate detailed reviews so I will try to do the same here ...

- I don't think the cleaning company did a thorough job. Luckily I found the vacuum and was able to vacuum the entire downstairs. It looked as if they quickly swept the floors and that was all. Normally, I wouldn't be too bothered by this, but I have a crawler who puts everything in her mouth so clean floors are a must.

- There were old used sponges in the kitchen sink. Personally I don't want to wash dishes with an old sponge that another stranger used on who knows what.

- loved the bedrooms upstairs! Carpeted (these looked cleaned...I didn't see any dog hair from previous renters).

- the master bed was very very comfortable!!!!!! It was so nice to have the door opened to the balcony in the mornings.

- the 2nd bedroom worked perfectly for our toddler and had plenty of room for the baby's pack and play

- being able to do a load of laundry while we were there was another huge plus

- 5 minutes to town. 10-15 minutes to the Village

- We had difficulty with the WiFi, but the problem was quickly fixed. Ryan, the owner, responded very quickly to my texts about this and did everything he could to help us.

- quiet neighborhood

All in all a great place to stay at a fabulous price. We would stay here again...maybe in the winter next time :)

Perfect family getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 plus 2 dogs stayed at this home and it was perfect for us! There was plenty of room for everyone and the fenced yard was great! The location could not have been better. The owner, Ryan, was a pleasure to deal with. He was very quick to respond. We will absolutely stay there again!

Darling little cabin

  • 2 of 5

This is a darling little cabin and close to nearby fun activities. VERY close to neighbors on all sides (some being loud late into the night (2AM), but that's nothing our hosts could do anything about so I don't hold it against them).

I would not recommend 5-6 people in the house, but a family of four would be comfortable (the common spaces are very small and the only seating for meals was a table for 4). We liked the fenced yard, dog door, and the fact that it was pet friendly. Everything was explained well from the owners via email and lists at the house.

Amenities were ok, kitchen was stocked with basics, but we ended up having to restock bathroom tissue, paper towels ourselves which we haven't ever had to do in a VRBO. Also, although there was a cleaning fee, the carpets had not been vacuumed, nor the bathrooms cleaned well. Anytime our kids sat on the floor, they got up with white dog hair all over their pants (and our dog is black).

A good basic if you have pets or small kids and don't mind the above.

This place was great! Pet friendly, clean, comfortable, close to the Village/ski resorts etc. It was everything it stated it was and everything we needed. We had a wonderful vacation and will definitely stay here again in the future.

Nice and quiet house

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 6 plus our dogy had a wonderful time in this welcoming home. The kitchen is full of household items and utensils, so no need to bring with you anything. You can bring your own shampoo and shawer gel, the rest is provided.

We will defenetly come back again, thank you.
