The short beach in front of the house is not for swimming, only for jumping in and rinsing off! Swimming beach is 300 yards away beyond the round white house.
Biking, Boating, Other Activities: Rent bikes and golf carts to explore the islands. Rent a boat to discover the famous Charleston Harbor and the Intra-coastal Waterway with its many creeks or just simply escape from the crowd: ride along with dolphins, check out the unique bird habitat of the marshes and anchor on a shell island in the middle of 'nowhere'.
Wildlife viewing, boating, shelling, walking on wide sandy beaches, historic Fort Moultrie.
Sullivan's Island: Separated from the mainland with the Intra-coastal Waterway and marshes, Sullivan's Island is more beach than resort, with semi-tropical terrain, wide sandy beaches, historic Fort Moultrie, etc. it is a sport, nature and history lovers' paradise. Go crabbing, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing in the ocean or in the inlets and creeks leading to the waterway.
The Jeffries family was a short-tempered group of people from Washington DC.
They made sport about complaining about everything instead of enjoying their vacation. They left the windows open upstairs and complained about the A/C not cooling the house... I had the A/C repair man out at the house and made photos of it. They also used obscene words in their sentences. I would never rent them my home again and whoever does, will get a review like they produced for me with a young lawyer in the family. I have my home rented back-to-back from April through October (most people spend 1-2 weeks here) and no one else had problems.
Bruce, the owner
My family, that includes 3 children and a dog enjoyed a fabulous week at Inlet Breeze! Bruce was very accommodating and gave us fantastic referrals for tours etc...in Charleston. The view from this home is stunning from the moment you walk into the home! The location was excellent and the beach (very private) was perfect for a dip in the ocean. Our chocolate lab had an amazing time running into the ocean and sun bathing on the deck. The pool provides ample entertainment for the children, as it is very kid friendly! We were outside the entire time, no TV, or games on Cell phones as there was so much to do. This was a much needed break for all three children. In the evening we would stroll into town on Bruce's golf cart and spent hours just driving around the island, looking at the lovely homes. Sullivan's Island is the ultimate destination with Charleston only 20 minutes away...there is so much beauty and history to absorb! We will definitely be back and can't thank Bruce enough for his hospitality. Best vacation we have ever had!!
great location with great views. very nice pool and a short walk to the beach.
screen porch for enjoying the ocean breezes.
My family of six adults and one old dog just spent a wonderful week at Inlet Breeze - well named as we didn't even use the air conditioning most days b/c the ocean breeze and open house plan was cool and comfortable. This is a casual, lived-in home that makes you feel welcome. Kitchen is fully equipped, gas grill for cooking outside. New high efficiency washer & dryer, too. Bedrooms are large and airy and the queen sized beds are comfortable. The house was clean and the pool was sparkling when we arrived. Bruce, the owner is an easy-going guy who knows the island and its history well, and he was available immediately when we had a glitch with the pool filter- fixed right away. The description makes it clear that even though you are on the ocean you cannot swim right in front of the house but there is swimming access in the ocean close by.
The location couldn't be better - ocean and beach views, in a lovely neighborhood, jasmine blooming all around. in minutes you are in Mount Pleasant for shopping. Sticky Fingers and Melvins in Mount Pleasant have great BBQ, and get the freshest fish and shellfish at Mount Pleasant Seafood Company. Charleston is close by with fabulous restaurants and historical sites and neighborhoods and there are all sorts of water activities nearby as well - we did a beautiful kayak river tour with Nature Adventure Outfitters. For all of the attractions and activities in the area we had planned, we ended up spending most of our time at the house relaxing in the pool, tooling around in the golf cart and having our meals in the screened in porch overlooking the ocean- so relaxing to just enjoy the place and each other's company. Wish we could have spent two weeks!
Great house for casual vacationing in very casual Sullivan's Island. Views are lovely....sleeping by the sound of the ocean (it was cool enough not to run a/c) and watching the sun come up...fabulous. House has just what is needed for a relaxing time. The owner was very easy to deal with and available (especially when we got the tv remotes all confused). Golf cart was great fun and the pool was nice. Beach out front is very private...if you want to go for a long walk, just walk to Station 32 street, and you can have a long walk...beach is very puppy friendly as are the owners of the puppies on the beach.
Beautiful views! Located directly on an inlet beach and within short walk to swimming beaches. Ideal for families with the layout of the house. Swimming pool is a welcome addition. Short drive or bike ride to restaurants and taverns. Owner is very accommodating and easy to contact. Don't miss the sunrise from multiple balconies on the house!
After staying at various beaches in the Charleston area we have decided that Sullivan's Island is the best and Inlet Breeze has the perfect combination of privacy, convenience and amenities. You really can't beat having a pool, gorgeous views and a 50 yard walk to a secluded part of the beach. We will definitely be coming back next year.
