I am a Hungarian-Canadian - we purchased this flat so that our family has a home-base when we visit Budapest a few times each year. As this is our home away from home, you will find that the apartment is equipped to a much higher standard than vacation rentals.
Allie purchased this apartment in 2004
The apartment is ideally situated downtown, a short walk to all the main attractions and amenities, and features underground parking (subject to availability). We purchased the flat newly-built to a very high standard, giving us the peace of mind that we will not be spending our visits dealing with 'old building problems'.
Taking a short stroll to the Central Market, built by Eiffel, to pick up the finest ingredients for an amazing dinner, or visiting one of the many popular pubs and restaurants on Raday street nearby.
We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying at your apartment and we also thank for the lovely sparkling. Barbi was very nice too. What a fantastic location, all of my friends and family who visited us simply loved it!!! You couldn`t ask for a better location!!
We will definitely come back and happily recommend it to other people.
Perfection!! Absolute wonderful place to stay in downtown Budapest. Rady street with all the bars and restaurants is right around the corner (1/2 block) and the Central Market is at the end of the street. Public transportation is easy to navigate, was nearby, and we took it everywhere. I cannot say enough about the apartment. Barbie met us there on the first day and gave us a very thorough tour. She even set up a 4 AM cab ride for our return to the airport later in the week. She was very friendly and answered all of our questions. The apartment is very large and has two balconies that overlook a private courtyard. We sat there every day to have either coffee or a glass of wine and it was very quiet. The apartment is very clean and has all the amenities you would need or want. Just a note. My daughter is studying at Corvinus University in Budapest and we wanted to stay as close as possible. This location is on the edge of the University campus so we were very nearby. Lastly, don't waste your time searching all kinds of sites looking for a two bedroom apartment in downtown Budapest. If you want one of the finest, cleanest, roomiest, and centrally located apartments available just book here.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this apartment. Allie, the owner, was very prompt in answering any questions we had and provided some good tips for enjoying our time in the majical city of Budapest. The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The Central Indoor Market was located at the end of the street and buses and tram stops were located in front of the Central Market. We found that the Hop on Hop off red bus was a great way to get around (not the Big Red bus- no attendant to announce stops). One tip regarding use of telephone. Numbers are listed with a plus sign in front. Use 00 as the first two digits (exclude plus sign).
We felt very safe in the apartment (24 hour security) and in the neighborhood and Budapest in general. We found a very good small informal Italian Restaurant named Pasta Bella located in front of the great Jewish Synagogue. We ate there twice for lunch and the pasta dishes were excellent and for a very reasonable price.
I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to family or friends or for my wife and I to stay there on a return visit to Budapest. Thanks Allie and Barbara.
We are frequent users of VRBO rentals worldwide and after much research for Budapest, settled on this apartment. Could NOT have been happier with our decision! From start to finish, the owners (Allie & Ray) and their local property manager (Barbi) were professional, friendly, helpful, and informative. The apartment itself is large and very clean; two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one full and one half), a full kitchen with every amenity, a dining area, and a good size living room. The location is absolutely perfect; close to all of Budapest's must-see sites, but far enough away so that you are not affected by the crowds and noise. The price of the rental is very competitive and much less than a nice hotel. We highly recommend this apartment for your Budapest stay and will absolutely reserve it again when we return. P.S. Fatal is an exceptional restaurant (cash only) with many delicious items to choose from: http://www.fatalrestaurant.com/?lang=eng
Very welcoming from before we arrived. Alex and Barbi were very communicative before arrival to make traveling seamless. The apartment was beautiful and very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Budapest.
I'll try not to repeat all the other positive reviews. There is nothing I did not like about this apartment. We stayed 2 weeks but I could be comfortable here for 2 years. It's big! Two balconies were a real treat. 2 air conditioner units; one in the master bedroom and one in the family room. It was unseasonably warm during our stay. They worked perfectly. You don't need to bring a Budapest travel guide book. There are a half a dozen or so (Lonely Planet, Frommers, Fodors, etc) as well as a few fiction and biographies. There are a couple of tvs and a DVD player ( I think). We only flipped on the tv once. Great WiFi connection. Dishwasher which we also didn't use. It was just as easy to wash by hand. Iron worked good, washing machine, clothes drying rack, a bunch of umbrellas ( we're leaving T's favorite purple one from Ljubljana) Bosch vacuum made keeping house a breeze. Easy walk to everything you could want. A half block off of Raday and all the restaurants there. Tina had her hair cut and colored in the salon right next door good results and fairly priced. We truly felt at home here. Thanks Barbi and Allie for renting us your space. I can't imagine, if we are fortunate enough to return, staying any place else.
Just a 5 minute walk to the Central Market (Nagy Vasar Csarnok) built by Eiffel, and the famous Vaci Utca which is the main tourist walking street full of the best restaurants, cafes, and shopping that Budapest has to offer.
