Designed and hand built by Bryan Tedrick, the Moon House is a sculptural jewel situated in the heart of historic Glen Ellen. Uniquely curvilinear in form, this intimate space is an ideal location for adventuring in the Valley of the Moon.
Restaurants, a gourmet grocery, and the Jack London Saloon are within one block of the Moon House. Take walks in the neighborhood’s regional and state parks and peruse Jack London’s Beauty Ranch. Wineries abound and the Sonoma Mission at the Sonoma Plaza is just 15 minutes away.

Bryan Tedrick and I have two children, Nathalie, 29, and Jake, 26. I retired in 2013 after teaching at the local middle school for many years. Currently, I am working as an education consultant in the Valley. Bryan is a sculptor, working on his latest Burning Man commission. If you would like to see more of Bryan's work, check out his web site.
Bryan also designed and built the Moon House.
We purchased the property in 1990.
Terry Roberts purchased this house in 1990
Although Bryan and I both grew up in the Bay Area, we always loved visiting the wine country - both the Napa and the Sonoma Valleys. After our daughter, Nathalie, was born, we decided that it was time to move away from the city and settle in a more rural area. We picked Glen Ellen for our home because we love the small town feel, yet it has all the conveniences of a larger city...our fabulous grocery store is just down the street, along with some terrific restaurants within walking distance. (Not to mention, my bank, my post office, and my hairdresser).
We chose the specific location of our home and the Moon House because we are in the heart of the Sonoma Valley. Our home, and the Moon House, are on our quiet little street...but not far from the center of town.
We spent a relaxing long weekend at the delightful Moon House. It was very quiet, private, and peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped, and the small aerial reading area was a great place to sit and write on a raining afternoon. The rest of the house was clean and we really enjoyed its style and decoration. The overall design of the house gave a feeling of spaciousness and freedom. Terry's warm welcome and the invitation to visit Bryan's studio were much appreciated. One couldn't ask for a more convenient location in the center of the wine country. We look forward to our next stay ...
Our favorite spot in wine country. Terry's home, hospitality, and the town of Glen Ellen are fabulous. It's such a unique spot and just perfect for a peaceful weekend away. We'll be back!
What a gem tucked right in the middle of the quaint town of Glen Ellen. The Moon House is terrific. It is truly an artist's statement but also one that is so very livable and comfortable. We were honored to be able to stay in such a place. Bryan accomplished yet another of his art works and now shares it with the guests. And Terry has decorated it beautifully, and provides each guest with everything needed for a delightful stay. We urge future guests to be sure to visit the Wilson Winery and experience Bryan's "Coyote" that was first shown at the Burning Man at the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. We will be back!!!
This unique home is in a great location for activities in Glen Ellen and a close drive to Sonoma. It offers great privacy and a quiet place to relax. Terry was easy to get in contact with and very thoughtful about making us feel welcome. We would stay here every weekend if we could - we will definitely be back!
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Moon House. It is very nicely furnished and had great appliances/supplies in the kitchen. The owners even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy! The location is also perfect, walking distance to some nice shops and restaurants as well as very near to many wonderful wineries. The owners were very easy to contact and responsive to our needs. We will certainly return if given the opportunity.
What a charming and utterly unique house, right in the center of tiny Glen Ellen, just a few miles outside of Sonoma and a wonderful and convenient place to begin and end days touring the wineries and other sights that the Sonoma and Napa valleys have to offer.
The house itself is perfect for a couple looking to enjoy the area while staying in something roomier and more interesting than virtually any hotel room or bed & breakfast. The house, a work of art in itself, is a relaxing place to spend down-time, and has full kitchen facilities if you choose not to eat at the region's restaurants, including a few great choices literally down the block (along with a small store to pick up food and other items).
The owners (who live nearby) are friendly and communicative and I'm sure would be quick to respond to issues, although we didn't have any. I would recommend this space to anyone looking to spend a few days in the area.
With full amenities and convenience to wineries and restaurants, this was the perfect place to spend the weekend off the beaten path at a reasonable price. Our hosts had everything we needed and more, with maps, suggestions and even a bottle of wine to welcome us. Highly recommend the Moon House!
