Even in Hawaii, it is rare to find a true beachfront property where you can walk out directly on to a pristine beach in an exclusive gated resort.
Versatile condominium, great for groups, extended families, children, everyone!
The location and property of this condo are amazing. The grounds are pristine and maintained daily. It would be nice if the pools stayed open till 10PM not 9PM.
The condo is very spacious and lovely. The large kitchen island was perfect for food prep. The sliding doors open completely to the lanai. The furniture on the lanai was comfy. The switch controlled blinds in living space was a must for the people sleeping on the pull out sofa. Two bathrooms had amazing soaking tubs. The exercise facilities were well appointed with tons of equipment, locker rooms had sauna and steam rooms. The storage closet in our unit was loaded with beach stuff, snorkel gear, boggie boards, floaties, beach chairs.
A few things needed a little upgrading. For a condo that sleeps 8, there should be at least 8 of everything to eat and drink. We only had 4 coffee mugs, 6 forks, steak knives...etc. The plates were very heavy and chipped. The iron for clothes had a 2 foot cord (luckily someone had an extension cord), the blender leaked, the double dishwasher did not accomodate the large plates or clean the dishes, the microwave (a pull out drawer) was very inconvenient and spilled the contents when opening, the living room furniture was old (covered with fabric and tacked down as if this was a reupholster job) and uncomfortable (very difficult for elderly people to get in/out of), the sofa bed was a disaster and did not lay flat when opened, the wicker dining room chairs were hard on the legs and no cushions
THE REALLY BAD:
The rules are extensive. The bbq grill area happens to be by the pool, of course there is no glass by the pool and limited dish options to carry food to the grill and what happens, one of the resorts "Aloha Ambassadors" tags us for having glass. Why don't they have a seperate grilling area like the large seating area by the front that no one uses? or at least provide a plastic platter/serving tray or two to carry items to the area. In addition 2 hours later, celebrating a wedding, a few guys went to the parking lot near the main rd to have a cigar, again caught by "AA", there were no signs for designated smoking area (nor was it indicated in the rules), which happen to be less than 50 yds away. Thinking we resolved both issue IMMEDIATELY and politely that all was good, but then rcvd an email that we will loose $100 of our deposit for 2 violations. Later tried to discuss the rational behind our actions and they had no flexibility whatsoever.
It was a beautiful summer vacation. My mother-in-law stayed at this villa and she loved it. She loved the afternoons sitting at the lanai overlooking at her grandkids in the pool while she enjoyed a cut of coffee. If given the opportunity in the future she will be back to this place. Thank you, Joy for being able to make my mother-in-law staying at this villa amazing.
We loved it. The condo was very nice and well taken care of. We were well treated by all. Everything was as listed and customer service was outstanding. We would and have recommended this property to our friends. We did a lot of sight seeing, but could have been just as content with staying and enjoying the pools and beach right there. Ate most of the time in the rental where we bought food from Costco's. We did Luau at Paradise Cove, which was within walking distance. My husband also walked to the driving range of the golf course. Some nice shops also within walking distance. Overall, I would love to stay again sometime. Only thing I wish was there was a rug by the front door. No matter how much you wash off, sand still comes in with you and we ended up putting one of our beach towels down.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay, with 6 adults and 2 kids (ages 7 and 9). The unit is located on the "quiet pool" side, so the noise level was kept to the very minimum. It is a bit of a walk to the lagoons, but we enjoyed the walk through the pools and the koi ponds. The parking stall for the unit is located under the beach tower (the unit is in the ocean tower), so it also requires a bit of a walk to get to. I was concerned about the stall being too small for our Suburban, but we had no trouble with parking. Check-in and check-out were very easy and brief. Blayne, our concierge, had welcomed us and was very helpful in providing info and things that we may have forgotten to bring. The unit has a closet full of beach toys and chairs, which we used often. We cooked almost daily in the well stocked kitchen. My favorite part of the trip was the 4th of July fireworks by the lagoons. It was so close and spectacular! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation and don't care much for an ocean view, you will be pleased with this unit.
We stayed in this villa for a week with our two daughters, their husbands, and a toddler, and it proved to be the perfect set-up for our family. Each of the 3 bedrooms provided ample space and privacy for each family unit, and each also had their own bathroom. The resort itself is a quiet jewel in the busy Ko-Olina area. Well kept and beautiful. The lanai overlooks the quiet pool and has solid walls (instead of metal bars/railing) which was great since we had a 2-1/2 year old with us. We enjoyed coffee and family devotions every morning out there before we got going for the day. Security was tight, so we always felt like we and our possessions were safe. Target, restaurants, and shopping just an exit back on H1 and food prices were reasonable. Monkey Pod was an easy walk and good food. Blayne did a great job of being attentive as our personal concierge and was there when we needed him. Overall, I would stay in this villa again for sure. Great memories!
