Why Kym Kennedy chose Port Union
Located in the tiny community of Highland Creek, this original bungalow sits 200 meters back from the road. The apartment is easily accessed through the back of the home and is very well lit at night. Close to the 401, public transit and the Rouge Hill Go station it provides easy transportation options to take you anywhere in the city.
What makes this Apartment unique
It was built by a Canadian War Vet in 1945 when the Canadian government offered these brave servicemen a piece of property to construct their own home. The character and charm of the home is what attracted us. The well established prestigious neighborhood was a bonus. Over the years we have done many upgrades, including the lovely, recently renovated basement apartment. The backyard is a joy to relax in with an in ground pool with slide, play gym and huge deck to sit back and unwind.

A Gem near TO
This was not a holiday for us, as we simply needed a place to stay near one of the hospitals in the area. The location was ideal for us and it met all our needs. Kym, the host, is very responsive and kind hearted. She took great care of us and was always available if we needed anything. The place was impeccably clean and organized and had everything one would need. Though we didn't use it, there is a beautiful pool in the back that was very inviting. The area was wonderful for walking our dog and we were over the moon that they allowed us to have our dog with us (a rather large lab-collie mix). The bed was extremely comfy and the shower had great water pressure (something I love!). We highly recommend it!
Great hospitality, comfortable place to stay
We had a really great trip to Toronto, and having comfortable accommodations was key in that. Kym went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed to feel at home away from home. We were in the area for a wedding, so we wanted to be close enough for convenience, but also have a place to just relax between events. The pool was not what initially was top of mind when I was booking, but with the heat wave that hit at the same time, we were in the pool every day. And let me say, it is a very nice pool for kids--saltwater instead of chlorine, and deep enough to be fun, but not too deep to be worrisome. Thanks, Kym!
FANTASTIC!! Kym is exceptional
Had a fantastic time! Wonderful hosts, lovely apartment with everything you could think of and then some. Kym is incredibly thoughtful, couldnt have asked for a better experience. Was so close to everything we needed as well as all the arenas we had to go to for lacrosse nationals. The pool is an awesome bonus and my kids had a blast. Would stay again in a heartbeat and hoping to if nationals is there again next year, that we will get that chance! If your looking for clean, safe and comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price, this is it!
Well my new dear friends. What wonderful words you have used and now I'm blushing. There really wasn't anything special that I do. I just want people to feel comfortable like at home. I always have to make sure people sleep well and have everything they need. If I've forgotten something....ill get it to you from my home. It was a jou to see the kids spend litterly hours in the pool. Makes me feel good that its being used! You girls went above and beyond with stripping the sheets and taking care of the garbage. I wasn't expecting that. It was a nice surprise!
Thank you for choosing our home, and like I say.....the towels might not match, but the bathroom is clean!....lol Good luck with all that smoke and ash. Say high to your sister...my thoughts are with her. And one final comment ...you certainly have amazing kids! You should be proud!
Until we meet again.....Kym
Kym's place was extremely comfortable, clean, well stocked and felt like home!
To all the travellers out there looking for a place to stay when in the Scarborough area--Kym's place is the place to be!!!! We travelled to Scarborough as our daughter was competing in the Canadian Junior Swim Championships at the Pan Am Pool. We are a family of 3 and Kym's suite was PERFECT!! Communication with Kym started in the weeks prior to our arrival and was excellent to help us prepare for our journey east. Kym even picked us up at the airport!! Our daughters hit it off immediately (with social media I believe they will continue to stay in touch!) They even came and watched her swim!
Kym's home was located extremely close to public transit. Easy to the Pan Am pool going west about a 7 minute ride and to the GO train at Rouge Hill (to downtown) was east about 7 minutes. A Metro grocery store and No Frills were also very close. Kym and Todd were tremendous hosts who went above and beyond. Kym especially took great care of us during our week. The basement suit was perfect for our family. Clean, quiet, safe, beautiful neighbourhood! Very well appointed and stocked, comfortable beds, great WiFi, a nice TV with many channels and a very homey feel. Well... it was really Kym and her family that made us feel like we were "staying with family "
We have stayed at many vacation rentals and this truly exceeded all expectations!
For our first visit to the Greater Toronto area, we were a bit uncertain but Kym's care and recommendations made it easy! For example : reserve lunch at the CN Tower! You get to bypass the line up, go straight up to the dinning room 360, and have a beautiful lunch AND take in all viewing areas! Thanks Kym for this golden recommendation!!!
A 10 out of 10! A+ + +
Again... the place to stay when visiting the Scarborough area!
Thanks again Kym.
Kym and her family made our family stay at their place very relaxing and peaceful. The accommodations had everything we needed and is very cozy and clean. The property is beautiful, my kids were in their wonderful pool almost every day. Kym's hospitality is second to none, she always offered pointers and suggestions on travelling the city and attractions. If we were ever to visit Toronto again, we will be calling Kym to book our visit. A very nice family and a beautiful home away from home. Thank you for everything Kym, it was a pleasure to meet you and your family and hopefully we will see you again!
Our stay with Kym was great, it was clean, Kym checked in to make sure we had everything and it was just what we needed for our long weekend.
Thank-you Lisa, for your thoughtful words! I must say, with your long days out on the lake, it seemed you were hardly here! Maybe next time you will be able to take a moment to relax and enjoy the backyard. And I would love to hear more about your travels with the "team"!
Good Luck in your future challenges on the high seas! Kym
Located in the quiet neighborhood of Highland Creek. Only minutes away from the Pan Am Aquatic Center. (Scarborough) It is one bus ride via public transit. The bus stop is only100 meters up the street.
The Metro Toronto Zoo is a world class facility. It is a single bus trip, which takes 20 minutes to the front gate. During the summer, the zoo also offers a terrific splash park for kids (and kids at heart) to cool off in.
Just down the street is Rouge Valley Park. Soon to become Canada's only urban National Park.
Also nearby, is the newly linked Waterfront Trail. Where the Rouge River meets Lake Ontario, there's a sandy beach and a wetland full of wildlife waiting for you. The marshes at Rouge Beach are the best and biggest in Toronto. The sandy beach is a popular summer spot for residents and visitors. Go fish! From dusk to dawn you can enjoy a day of fishing on the river. When the salmon are spawning, many folks enjoy watching this natural phenomenon, as the fish fight their way up stream.
