About Troy Snow

My husband and I live on the Property that we rent out year round. We take pride in our properties and are responsive to any of our renters needs. Since we are on property, we deal with our guests directly – from key exchanges, to cleaning, to repairs, and anything in between. All of our properties are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home!

Why Troy Snow chose Bryson City Area

We purchased this property because of the history. These cabins were used to house the men that were to build the road from Tennessee to North Carolina in 1943. In 1945 the city of Fontana was flooded. The flooding of this road & subsequent loss of access would become a major controversy that has still not been settled over 50 years later .In the late 1980's & early 1900's many of the cabins were sold & removed from Fontana to make room for new units; dozens of the little cabins are scattered around Western North Carolina today. I'm happy to say we have a little piece of American History. These cabins are A-6 & were built by Schultz Trailers, Inc. of Eckhard, Indiana. The road today is Fontana Road aka "The Road to No Where".

What makes this cabin unique

We chose this property because of the quiet, quaint area & the history of it.

We had a very nice stay. Hated to leave, because we had to come home to a hurricane. Nice peaceful place to stay.

Good for fishing trip.

  • 3 of 5

Only there to sleep mostly, because of fishing in Cherokee.{ Never go in July fishing in Cherokee, No fish has been stocked because of the water being to low I guess. } Cabin is ok for what we needed it for. Just need to put new battery in the remote in bedroom. Receiver would not come on.

Clean and Courteous

  • 3 of 5

Very nice folk and quaint cabin. Owner was very helpful and even came by to ensure we were comfortable, even though he just got out of surgery that week.

Few things that may help your decision:

Has directv

No internet

Entry path is loose gravel paved road, gravel, large stone creek crossing (traversible in everything but a low car), followed by grass.

Two queen sized beds with tv in one room

Shares property with owner and property manager cabins, so if you need anything they are right there.

Cabin is 4 minutes north of Bryson downtown by car.

Furnishings are dated but satisfactory.

Pond may have standing water so bring bug spray.

Unit has AC/heat, located in central living space.

All windows work and have screens.
