Maine experience

Great location , easy walk to beach and boating. Enjoyed the kayaks on the lake, easy launch and plenty of great views. The house was very clean and roomy. Michelle was a great host and responded quickly to every question we had. Would stay here again.

Great little cottage in prime location

So happy to have stayed here as my intro to Bridgton! Michelle was wonderful before & during the trip. House is half a mile to lake access and to a pool. Note: hilly in both directions, so if you're schlepping stuff or have difficulty with hills it's easier to drive (plenty of parking). We brought camp chairs and flotation devices and life jackets for the kids but didn't end up needing them - plenty of chairs at the beach and pool, and found all the life jackets necessary at the house.

Master bedroom is queen sized bed, which we threw our king sized sheets on and it worked out fine. Recommend bringing extra pillow cases if you like multiple pillows on your bed - the pillows are available, but you have to supply all linens.

The house doesn't have A/C, but is in a pretty shaded area so it never got too hot and there were fans to use. Not having cable or internet was the biggest bummer, but we acclimated.

Kitchen has everything you'd need, with the single exception of a good knife set. If you're really into cooking you'd need to bring that - there are a couple of paring knives and one larger one but all a bit dull.

Going to the Bridgton drive-in was super fun, as was a trip to Sebago Lake - otherwise we mostly played at Moose Lake down the street.

It took some doing, but we found the transfer station (town dump) on our last day - they do accept recycling and it doesn't have to be sorted in any particular way. Bringing the trash and recycling out with us on our final day was a bit of a detour on our last day, but once we found the place it was easy enough (it's not where GPS will take you - which is to the downtown municipal building). Recommend owners add directions to the tip sheet.

Overall we really enjoyed Bridgton and our stay at this house. Many thanks to Michelle for her helpful text and emails along the way!

Where to start. We arrived and the weather was typical summer, muggy and humid. walking up the steep steps there was a layer of algae causing us all to slip and afraid of falling. the space was infested with ants. Every morning we were at battle. They advertised having a toddler bed, told me when we got there that they USED to have a pack and play but couldn't tell me where that was for my 22 month old. Also was told that wifi was a available, no internet was hooked up or available. The kids room smelled like urine. The pros were the pool! Very nice space over there. And it was close to my grandparents we could visit and also story land for a kids outing. The area was nice, just not this house.

Owner's Response: Hi Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience....on top of the tornado that hit while you were there! We were just there this past weekend, and saw no ants, my apologies that they were a problem. Ant traps were out pre-emptively as it's the woods and they can certainly come along, and I'm sorry that the traps didn't kick in quickly. I'm also sorry about the toddler bed, I've removed it from the listing, and my apologies for the inconvenience. We had a pack and play and I'm not sure what happened to it? Regarding the steps, they are being painted next week, as they definitely can be slippery when wet, but I'm not sure what you meant by algae? I'm glad you were all ok though. And I was really concerned to hear that there was a urine smell, as this is our vacation home that we treasure, and we keep it clean and fresh, and it means a lot to be able to share it with others. I have a no pets policy....and one guest early in the year asked to bring their small dog at the last minute, which I agreed to. I found this weekend a smell of urine in the master closet, not the second bedroom, and was really upset as well. Luckily Nature's Miracle got rid of it, and I learned as a result to not make exceptions to the no pet rule. It sounds like you were able to enjoy family and local activities, and I hope you'll come back to enjoy the Bridgton area again in the future. Take care.

Great place!!!

  • 5 of 5

Whst a great place to stay! Very clean and cozy modern chalet. Our son loved the private beach, pool, and playgrounds. The views from the private beach were amazing. The chalet had a fully sticked fridge, a grill, and a firepit. We enjoyed smores on the deck. We were very close to so many things to do we enjoyed a hike up Shawme peak, a walk on the main street in Bridgton, North Conway outlets, and there was much to do right around the area. The owners were great and available for any questions. We Had a wonderful time and cant wait for another stay!

Incredibly relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Nice place, clean and like camping in luxury. Fishing was outstanding on Moose Pond if you like bass fishing. The beach was really cool with views of the Mountain and well maintained beach with dock you could swim out to and chairs to sit on and relax. Clean bathroom facilities at both the beach and the pool. We would go to the pool in the morning and then hit the beach in the afternoon, kids loved both and could try the kayaks too which they loved. There was a Hannafords close by and movie theatre as well as bowling which we did on the one rainy day. No TV was great, we played cards and board games at night and really connected with the kids. Great time!! Thanks Michelle.

Cozy house that made us feel right at home. Very clean and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Our 1 year old had a blast playing in the water at Moose Pond and the views were breathtaking. Michelle is very helpful and easily answered any questions we had. Would definitely recommend!!
