Welcome to Awarehouse Loft - which extends across the entire building right above the clothing store in the picture. Located on the second floor, accessed by elevator or stairs, it has floor to ceiling windows 14 feet high which create a lovely ambience and an interesting view of the ever changing street activities below.
Please consider that the wooden heritage windows which flood the loft with light, also let in street noise from people accessing the various restaurants, pubs as well as occasionally from construction as heritage buildings are renovated.
Converted from a historic warehouse it boasts old red brick side walls with historic wood and sash windows. Awarehouse loft at 811 square feet was carved from a unique warehouse space and all it's living areas are more spacious than the majority of lofts/condos in the historic downtown area. It may be the only loft in the Leiser Building with a king sized bed in an enclosed bedroom.
The living-room/dining/kitchen open space contrasts heritage architecture with modern furnishings. The open space makes cooking and entertaining a pleasure. The kitchen has been furnished for people who love to cook. It is fully equipped with a dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, coffee grinder, coffee makers, Tassimo, blender, food processor, toaster, toaster oven and all of the comforts of home. The separate dining area at one end of the living space comfortably seats four. There is also a bar counter with seating for two.
The living room area has four leather lounge chairs for seating. The entertainment unit houses a 40' High Definition TV with Personal Video Recorder and DVD systems. Cables enable you to stream from your laptop to the TV. WIFI is included in the rental.
Your clothes will be well looked after, there is plenty of closet space, a coat closet and a large wardrobe in the bedroom. The loft has a washer and dryer. The bathroom is spacious and has a bathtub and shower and heated towel rack.
Awarehouse Loft is a non-smoking space for couples, singles, snowbirds or short-term vacationers who enjoy a comfortable self-catering holiday. We are sorry but no pets are permitted. The rental price is all inclusive, high-speed internet access, high definition television with full HD cable connections, all electricity and heating charges, sheets, towels, liquid soap and staples in the kitchen (salt, pepper, coffee, tea, sugar and more). You will be met and given assistance to settle into the apartment.

Experience the charm of old town architecture, sightseeing, water tours, shopping, nightclubs and great restaurants just steps away from Awarehouse's downtown location. Victoria is a charming city with lots of activities, great places to explore, fabulous dining and great nightlife opportunities. We love to travel and have stayed in vacation rentals in Europe and in the US. We have tried to implement comforts we missed in vacation rentals abroad.
Doug Hensby purchased this condo in 2008
We love charm of staying in a heritage building in the heart of Victoria's downtown. We travel to Victoria often and decided to purchase the loft for our use throughout the year and make it available to travellers who want to visit Victoria.
Central location, close to main tourist attractions, dining, bars, nightclubs and all within an easy walk, wonderful ambience with lots of sunshine from floor to ceiling windows, comfortable seating, fully equipped kitchen, full laundry facilities, king-sized bed and High Definition TV with free WiFi
We were very pleased with the Awarehouse condo. It was spacious and had every thing we needed. The view of Yates Street was very interesting as we watched the cherry tree come into bloom. The location allowed us to walk to many tourist sights. The Browns
The owners of this rental are incredibly helpful. They actually show you in, and teach you the tricks of the washer (not that I used it) and all the ins and outs of the kitchen and the TV. Very personal service, and lots of personal opinions/recommendations.
We loved the access to the harbor and many of the main attractions. Any kind of food imaginable within a few minutes of walking. Murchies, a coffee bar with incredibly good quick food, was a favorite of ours. It is a 2 minute walk from the guest house towards the inner harbor area.
Everything is clean and the the furniture is really comfortable. For a couple, this is a perfect spot!
We really enjoyed our stay in this amazing condo. There was nothing that we could have wished for that was not there at our fingertips. We appreciated having some coffee to start us off. The roof top would be lovely in more seasonable weather. An easy walk to downtown. We rented rowboats in the harbour and checked out the gorge and the harbour seals. The street can be noisy when the pub is open. Next time we hope to leave the cold weather at home in Ontario. M.L. March 2017
The apartment was just as it looked in the photos. It was clean and each room was well stocked (the living room had some good books to read, the bathroom had all the details considered, and the kitchen had everything you could possibly want/need for making meals). There was a very detailed book that was included - information about the apartment and also lots of great information about the city. We loved the floor to ceiling windows that let in so much light, and the high ceilings make the apartment feel even roomier. Just over the "blue bridge" is a lovely walking trail that is about 2.7km called the West Bay Walkway. There are also lots of great restaurants and coffee shops close by - it is really in the heart of everything you could need. The parkade across the street is owned by the City and provides your first hour free and evenings are also free (overnight parking is not a problem) and ends up being quite reasonably priced. As mentioned by the owner, the restaurant across the street has live bands so it can be a bit noisy (earplugs made it easy to sleep) but the location and brightness of the apartment more than make up for this. We would definitely stay again.
We had a great Christmas vacation at this apartment, it's stylish, roomy and very well equipped. The kitchen is huge and has everything you could possibly need for cooking and all the appliances are high quality. The apartment was also super clean and the owner Doug was very fast and thorough with emails and advice.
As for things to do near by: our absolute favorite was the Bug Zoo!
What a perfect location in Victoria!! All the needed amenities are within steps!
Awarehouse Loft is simply lovely with all the comforts one needs for a wonderful stay. Jacqui and Doug were so very welcoming and their flexibility was greatly appreciated!!!
