Perched above Lake Champlain in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for downtown and waterfront excursions on foot, by bike, or by car— the Suite offers a creative alternative for the independent traveler.
Quiet, private, uncluttered.
What a charming find in Burlington. We very much enjoyed our stay in the suite and Maggie's lovely lakeside garden. This is in pretty much a perfect location--far enough from the action to enjoy plenty of peace and quiet, but still close by for almost everything in Burlington to be within easy walking distance. Thanks so much!
As spectacular as the photos are for this property, it was even more breathtaking upon awakening and looking out on the early-morning crispness of the lake with the mountains beyond. I couldn't wait to head down to the multi-use trail along the waterfront for a walk, a short distance from the B&B. In one direction is North Beach, an intimate stretch of sandy beach, and in the other direction you'll find large sculptures carved from white chunks of marble, with more boat harbors and the Adirondack Mtns. always in view. The beautifully landscaped garden in the backyard of the B&B was perfect for taking in the delicious view, watching the boats come and go from the Burlington harbor. Maggie is the ideal hostess, providing healthy goodies for breakfast -- granola, yogurt, including local fruits in season, plus fresh coffee beans or tea -- and she supplied 1% milk for me upon my request. She even surprised me with a chocolate bar in the bin with my clean dishes! Although there is no microwave, the refrigerator works fine for casual snacking. The location is ideal, close to downtown with all manner of eateries and art neighborhoods. I highly suggest watching the sunset from the garden. If you're as lucky as I was, you'll see the green dot just after the sun dips below the Adirondacks. The charm of this historic Victorian adds to the experience. I have found my home-away-from-home for all future Vermont trips!
Relax, breathe the air, observe the ever-changing light over the lake and mountains.
