Excellent spot in a lovely village!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a long weekend here for a family wedding and it was perfect. Plenty of room for the three of us to relax and visit with really attractive surrounds. Steps from the best restaurants and bars but very quiet and peaceful. Fully equipped kitchen, including paper goods. Comfy beds and (beautifully built) stairs to the upstairs suite.

A garden swing and porch furniture add to the ambience.. Owner was very pleasant, hope we'll be back.

Perfect Family Getaway over the 4th of July

  • 5 of 5

Adorable little cottage nestled back off the street but right in the heart of town. Cozy, very clean and peaceful even with it being so close to downtown in the middle of a holiday- we were able walk anywhere in town. It is small but there was plenty of room for our family of five and the occasional visitor. The kids absolutely LOVED the charming upstairs loft area, which was all theirs. Cannot say enough great things about Steve who took great care of us. Be sure to check out one of his sailing excursions. We took advantage of one of his dolphin cruise and it was beautiful (highly recommended!). Seeing the three day old wild horse from the sailboat was the highlight of may daughters trip. Many things to do in Beaufort such as boating, shelling, kayaking, hiking while trying to find the wild ponies and sand dollars. Exploring the historical burial ground and Maritime Museum (which has a ton of info about Blackbeard) was an amazing day of free entertainment for our family. The 4th of the July was the perfect time to come and enjoy the epitome of a small town summer holiday. We will be coming back!

Very comfortable cottage, great value

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Hideaway Cottage for five nights during the last week of July, 2014. It's very cozy and clean, newly renovated, great location only a half-block walk to all the shops and restaurants along the waterfront. Very quiet at night, comfortable mattresses. My nephew and I were there for scuba diving out of Morehead City, and it was less than a ten minute drive to the dock. There was plenty of room in the cottage for the two of us; nephew had the upstairs bedroom/sitting room/bathroom to himself, and I took the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. There would be ample room for two couples, or parents downstairs with two or three kids upstairs. Owner Steve was very welcoming and responsive to all questions. Steve runs sailing excursions on his beautiful catamaran; I took one of his sunset cruises, and it was a perfectly relaxing way to cap off a day.

Charming little spot less than a block from the waterfront

  • 5 of 5

Let me start out by saying the pictures do not do it justice. This completely renovated home is much bigger than you think. Beautifully decorated with new appliances and beach furniture. The host Steve was very nice and has established a great property. The Captains Quarters is less than a block from the waterfront and perfect for individuals who want to walk the town. We can't wait to book again soon!
