My husband, daughter and I visited Paris after she studied abroad. We love the St Germain area so we picked this flat. The location is great As in most of Paris, there are restaurants and shops close by. It's close to everything. It's an easy walk to Notre Dam, Louvre, and easy access to metro. The apartment is old but very nice. If you want to have a Parisian experience, this is a lovely flat.
First of all the apartment couldn't have been in a better location--so close to many attractions and plenty of great stores and shopping. My friend slept on the sofa bed which she said was very comfortable and I had no complaints about the bed. The shower worked well and the kitchen provided everything we needed. We were there for 5 nights, just 2 of us. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. (Make sure you try the gelato at Grom. Shopping at the women's clothing boutique Antoine & Lili provided a stellar retail experience. Both are close by.)
Newly renovated, pristinely clean, beautifully decorated, well managed. A few blocks away from the St Germain hub of cafes and boutiques, it's located on a small quiet street, in the tony St Supice area, a few blocks from the famous church, the Odeon, and more boutique filled charming streets. Walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Marais, and so much more. The Metro and taxi stand is steps away. Pierre is a charming and thorough manager, available within minutes by text to answer any questions. There is a famous bakery and farmers market with beautifully prepared gourmet fare (can you say Thai chicken!) and gorgeous produce two blocks away, a health food spot and a bigger (read cheaper) grocery/department store nearby. The elevator was also key. No dragging big suitcases up tiny stairs. The washing machine was also a bonus. I was a woman alone, and felt safe, cozy and pampered. I could call distant friends on the free international landline, and entertain local ones in "my" living room. It made me feel as though I had a real home in Paris.
The location of the apartment is great for all major sights in Paris. It is well appointed with a bedroom that is very quiet. I would recommend this apartment for anyone going to Paris - I can't imagine a better location.
Pierre was absolutely wonderful! He greeted us after our long flight from the west coast of the U.S. and he took care of all of the details of our stay. If we texted, he responded quickly even on the weekend. When we return we will enjoy the lovely neighborhood, apartment and atmosphere of Paris.
Thank you for a great experience!
I confess that this review is a year late. I typically don't leave reviews because I am not that good at describing things and remembering details but a year later and this apartment is STILL on my mind as it left such a wonderful impression on me. My husband and I are in our early 30's and travel to Europe for vacation quite often especially to Paris. I was getting tired of staying at one hotel after the other so I decided to give renting a vacation apartment a shot. Since I am very picky about location and the condition of the apartment, it took me a long time to narrow down my choice to this one. I didn't want an apartment that looks like what you would find in the States...I wanted an authentic Parisian pied-a-terre and this apartment was it! First of all, the location was perfect. I really enjoy walking around the city as opposed to taking the metro so I needed a centrally located apartment. This apartment was a 5 minute walk to a Carrefour grocery store, which was very convenient since it allowed my husband and I to stock up on food and various necessities. I was also able to easily walk to Le Bon Marche, the Louvre, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Champs-Elysees. The apartment itself was decorated beautifully and very comfortable for 2 people. The bathroom was clean and I appreciate that the toilet was in a room by itself. The only complaint I have is that only 1 person at a time can use the free wifi but this was a year ago so not sure if it is still the case now. Pierre, the apartment manager, was very pleasant, thorough and professional. I highly recommend staying here...either if this is your first trip to Paris or if you are an experienced visitor.
My husband, 15 yr old son and myself returned recently from Paris. It was our first time renting an apartment anywhere and I had my doubts about trusting it all to be legitimate. Not only was the apartment as good as it looked in the photos, Gilles and Pierre were so helpful from timely email responses to Pierre arranging for a car service from the airport. Pierre met us during the week but gave excellent instructions on the phone when we arrived about how to work anything we had a question about. The location was so nice, we walked everywhere; Luxembourg Gardens is a stone's throw away, the Louvre a 10 min walk, Notre Dame, even to the Eiffel Tower. There was something so wonderful about renting the apartment, buying some groceries in the neighborhood and setting out on adventures every day from what felt like home instead of an hotel room. The second floor location was very nice, not many steps and there is an elevator for initial luggage deposit thought that's the only we used it. We hope to return, my son loved the pull out sofa's comfort and the apartment has been very nicely updated. Morning walks to get croissants and other bakery items was a way of life I wish we had here.
