4 Bedroom, 2 Bath Cabin Close To The Main Marina
I bought this cabin in 1999, and it was a little bit of a fixer upper at the time. Since then, it has been a labor of love to re-do the bathrooms, kitchen, windows, deck and decorate my place to feel very much like what I envision a lodge to look like - it even has a set of real moose antlers brought to me by a friend from Alaska. Each bedroom has it's own unique theme. I am a Canadian and this place is my way of feeling like I'm back home. I work in Silicon Valley and live in the bay area, and this is my family's get away place. I plan to retire in this home down the road. It has been a wonderful place to create memories for my kids and my family. I truly believe Pine Mountain Lake is the best kept secret in the Sierras.
Doug purchased this Cabin in 1999
Why Doug chose Groveland
Years ago I used to organize a guys fishing trip and we traveled through Groveland each time on the way to the lake. At first I didn't even know PML was here, but I took a house building class, and the instructor talked about building a home here. Then I got interested. I wanted a place that was close enough to the bay area that I could drive up to on a Friday night after work, and had lots of things to do since my kids were young then - PML fit the bill and I started looking. I looked at many homes, but the second I entered this cabin, I turned to the realtor and said 'this is the one'. It had green shag carpeting and a harvest yellow kitchen, but it had great bones and all those things have now been replaced.
What makes this Cabin unique
The main living area of the home has wooden paneling and large exposed beams with wooden tongue in groove ceilings throughout. It is a relatively large cabin (2100 ft.) yet has a warm and cozy feel with the floor to ceiling rock fireplace. As you look around you will notice new details every day. Many of the decorations have a story behind them.

This property has it all. Great space, stocked kitchen, daily deer viewing, easy access to the park. Nice spacious rooms, clean bathrooms etc etc etc. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heaven with us!
Good family getaway
Nice big cabin, good AC and many extras, about 1-2 hours from Yosemite areas. Internet unreliable, otherwise a good retreat for a family.
Love Groveland! The house was great.
The house is just as it appears in the pictures. It is spacious and was perfect for our family, the owner was very helpful.
Amazing house and lake
House is well taking care from the little details! Very nice pots and pans.
We were two families with a total of 8 people and the cabin was perfect with lots of space for everyone. Kitchen has all and more than you need, all the rooms have their own fun decor and personality. Wonderful location with deer visiting every morning an evening, Pine Mountain Lake for a swim and Groveland, with the Mar Val grocery market and the Iron Door Saloon, near by. Doug the owner is very responsive and accommodation. We had a wonderful stay!
Fantastic mountain lodge cabin!
We loved our stay at this cabin! It had everything we needed and even more with the pool table and shuffleboard table. We had some great family "pool tournaments" after spending the day in Yosemite. Our main reason for staying here was to visit Yosemite. You can spend just about the same amount of money to be 12 miles closer, but all you get is a hotel room. Staying here was really the best of both worlds. The lake is a short 5 min walk away and was quite refreshing after spending the day hiking. We also spent some time at the pool which is a short drive away. We're already looking at coming back next year. I would definitely recommend this cabin!
Pine Mountain Lake is a wonderful gated community in the Sierra foothills. There are numerous amenities including a golf course, lake, small airport, equestrian center, tennis courts, all close to Yosemite. The main marina is only a five minute walk from the cabin, and it has a beach, volleyball, small sail boat rentals, brand new beach side restaurant and picnic tables - tons to do! The town of Groveland is a small charming town with great shops and places to eat, and the famous Iron Door Saloon where you can try your luck at putting a dollar bill on the ceiling-ask the bartender. Live music and dancing Saturday nights! The country club restaurant has great food and a bar with a wonderful view overlooking the golf course and wooded mountains. Sunday brunch on the patio is a favorite.
There is a grocery store at the corner of highway 120 and Ferretti Road - it is smaller that the city versions, but has everything.
