The cabin is conveniently located on the west shore of Mullett Lake, in the heart of the Inland Waterway. Mullet Lake is the third largest inland lake in Michigan. 17,000 acres of the best fishing and water sports you can find. The Inland Waterway is 35 miles and connects Lake Huron all the way to Pickeral Lake near Petoskey. It's showcased in the Tip of the Mitt Outboard Boat Marathon, with great viewing of the race as the boats zoom by within 200 ft. of the dock.
Quaint rustic cabin is within 30 ft. of the lake shore, the cabin has a private dock, and buoy for boats or jet skis. The cabin has a porch, with a table for outside dining, featuring a screened in porch. Wake up to the blissful sounds of the water lapping the shores and picturesque sunrises.
There are many activities that will make your stay exciting. The bike/snowmobile trail is located just 300 ft. from the back door.
Further Details: The bike trail connects from Gaylord all the way to Mackinaw, and follows along the lake shore. Many nearby trails for ATV's or snowmobiling. The north end of the lake features live outdoor music at the sand bar where boaters anchor and enjoy the sun on the weekends. Renters often enjoy kayaking south of the cabin up a nearby creek along the nearby woodland. After a fun day on the lake enjoy a relaxing campfire just outside the cabin's front door or the beautiful view from the end of the dock.
We are conveniently located to many nearby attractions such as downhill skiing in the winter months, and in the summer many fine golf courses nearby, parasailing along the mackinaw shores, entertaining water park located in Mackinaw City, or tour the historical forts of Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island which are within 30 minutes of a beautiful drive along the shores of Lake Huron.
The area is known for its many fine restaurants, several are located along the inland waterway for boaters' convenience.

We do not allow guns of any kind including bb, paintball, or airsoft guns. No fireworks allowed. We also advise renters to wear water shoes as the zebra mussels are prevalent in Mullet Lake.
Four of us rented this cabin and we had a wonderful experience. It was very clean, well maintained, and the owner was very accommodating and friendly. The lake was so very peaceful and relaxing. We definitely would think of renting again.
This cabin was a real find. We were lucky to find it. The initial impression is a true up north lake cabin. Very clean and cozy. Very close to the lake. The grounds were well kept, with nice outdoor furniture, a charcoal grill and fire pit just steps from the door and from the lake.
My wife and I planned to book for next year just moments after our arrival. Our host, Fred, was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. We had a terrific time visiting nearby Topinabee, Indian river, the cross in the woods, and Cheboygan. We loved boating the inland route and the fishing in Mullett is solid. The bike trail is literally steps away and goes for miles.
I highly recommend this property for a great up north summer experience.
We were two couples celebrating our husbands' October birthdays with a weekend getaway and had a great time at this cabin! It's getting harder and harder to find these old cabins and this one is fantastic! All the old-school 'up north' Michigan charm with modern amenities.
First of all, the entire cabin was immaculately clean - not easy in an old place like this. The kitchen and bathroom sparkled, there wasn't a bit of dust or a cobweb anywhere. The kitchen appliances look to be brand new, as is the very comfortable living room furniture. The furnishings are simple and comfortable and attractive. The decorating is sweet - very 'up north' and cabin-like, and it's obvious Fred and his family take a lot of pride in their cabins.
Since it was October we couldn't take advantage of the lakefront location - other than to admire the view - but we all commented on how it would be great in the summer to swim and boat there.
Our only disappointment was that the fireplace - which is a great-looking old stone beauty - doesn't work. But it was a warm weekend and we really didn't miss it.
We had a great time just hanging out and hope to return again!
Conveniently Located Between Indian River and Cheboygan.
