About Mary Bogin
We love the outdoors, good restaurants and great people. That's why we moved to Jim Thorpe. We are very active in our community and can assist you in planning a great vacation stay.
Mary Bogin purchased this House in 2010
Why Mary Bogin chose Jim Thorpe
We found Jim Thorpe through kayaking and walking through town was enchanting. We decided to move and luckily found our 1860's Civil War home right in the 'Historic District'. We can walk to the train station and even walk to the Lehigh River where we spend many happy days whitewater kayaking. We can walk up the street to the Switchback Trail which is famous for its hiking and Mt. Biking. We also ride our tandem bike downtown and cross the parking lot into the Delaware and Lehigh Trail that follows the Lehigh River into the Lehigh Gorge State Park that is breathtaking.

Cozy and quiet
We enjoyed our stay and would come back again. You can even hear the church bells on Sunday morning 😊.. thank you to Mary and Neil your home is like home away from home.
We really enjoyed our stay here, Mary and Neil created a special place! It was so relaxing to spend a couple days by the private pool! I would certainly be back.
Jim Thorpe adventure house
It was very relaxing and the pool and hot tub were largely responsible for that.
everything we could have wanted or needed
We really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was a little away from the downtown, but within a short walk. We spent time each evening in the hot tub under the stars and the mornings out on the deck enjoying the sunrise.
Neil and Mary are terrific and proved everything you could need for a comfortable stay.
We really enjoyed eating at The Stone Pub as well as the Marion Hose Bar....delicious!
Love all the history and shops too!
Very Nice - but not as private as it seemed in reviews
This place was wonderful, it was so clean and very good location to everything down town. As all others have said - the hosts really did think of everything to make your stay pleasant. Keeping in mind that in a town where every house is very close to one another - I was a little hesitant to believe the backyard was really "private". It was close - but there was one neighbors deck that overlooked the entire backyard - so if privacy is important to you - just something to consider. It certainly should not stop anyone from staying (as you can see I still gave it 5 stars) - as everything else was wonderful - but I just wanted to make other renters aware of that. We tried quite a few restaurants - but our favorite by far was Marion Hose Co. (great drinks and food) and right next to opera house if going for a show. You have to visit the Asa Packer mansion - it was truly amazing.
Neil and Mary's property was terrific. They have thought of every little thing you might need or want and have provided it. Hot tub was crystal clear and the location nice and private. The property is a short pleasant walk to all downtown shops and restaurants in Jim Thorpe. Thanks Neil and Mary for making our stay so pleasant!
Thank you both for staying with us and for being the perfect guests!
Victorian Jim Thorpe is an outdoor activity mecca built in a gorge between 2 mountains! Visit the famous hand print in the Jail Museum and also visit our 1881 Opera House and the MCMuseum for local history. Our home is an 1860 civil war home across from the Old Jail Museum where the Molly McGuire's were made famous.
We can inform you about all the fantastic outdoor activities.
Whitewater kayaking and rafting all summer with dam releases and fall (rain dependent) on the Lehigh river!
Biking on all new 50+ miles of Lehigh river bike trail!
Hiking on trails throughout the area state parks!
The east coast's best Skirmish/Paintball is 10 minutes away!
Relax on your sundeck with your own private heated pool and hot-tub. Winter ice fishing and snow activities are close and our home is near 3 major ski areas. We live on vacation and we hope you will make Jim Thorpe your destination for adventure!
