Come down to the Clam Hut and enjoy a relaxing stay!
The main floor features two ocean view rooms that are perfect for enjoying the sites, sounds, and smells of the beach. A shared bathroom is accessible from both rooms—fully equipped with a shower and tub combo, as well as a stacked washer and dryer.
Walking down the stairs, the ocean meets the eye from the living room windows. All dining can be enjoyed at the large dining table, situated in front of one of the large picture windows overlooking the beach. Watch for otters or dolphins, as they regularly visit Place De Mer beach!
For convenience, there is a full kitchen, with a microwave, a convection oven, a stove/oven unit and dish washer. A gas furnace fireplace, cd/tape player and bath are located on this level as well.
Walk out on the deck and enjoy the warm ocean breeze or use the gas barbeque to enjoy your dinner, as you watch the sun melt across the water and the waves lull you to relaxation.
The Clam Hut is also equipped with high speed wireless internet, flat screen TV and DVD player.
Don't forget that fabulous shopping, famous Beach Boardwalk only 15 minute drive North, Bargetto Winery, Monterey Bay Aquarium and Phil' Famous Fish Market 20 - 45 minute drive South, Carmel, Long Marine Lab, Bonfante Gardens Theme Park in Gilroy or Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville for berry picking with the kids and so much more also await you, near the Clam Hut. We guarantee it will be a little touch of paradise!
No smoking or pets allowed.BED SIZES: 1 QUEEN, 2 TWINS, 1 QUEEN COUCH BED WITH LINENS PROVIDED.
This was a great location. The view from the living room was fabulous. When you turn up the heat, the fireplace turns on and heats up the downstairs quickly. The kitchen was stocked with all essential equipment. Service for 6 present. 1large counter to work on. Small oven with 4-burner stove. Big enough to make a small turkey. Microwave and convection oven also present. Coffee pot (needs replacement) and toaster present. Large dining table. Seating space in living room is limited to 4 but dining chairs can be used or the carpeted floor.
Upstairs ( the level you enter the condo) there are 2 bedrooms with a queen bed and twin beds. Beds are fairly comfortable and there is good drawer space. Wall heaters in each room. Bathroom is small but adequate. The third sleeping area is the sofa bed downstairs (mattress needs replacing) and a full bathroom.
Plenty of restaurants and shopping within a car drive. Some deliver.
Overall, it met our expectations. It was a nice, comfortable family get together in a gorgeous location
The Clam Hut was all we expected right on the beach. It was clean and comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of plates, silverware, and cook ware. However, we had three adults and two children so someone had to sleep on the hide-a-bed which turned out to be very uncomfortable even for our 9 year old grand daughter. See ended up sleeping on the couch instead. Another drawback was beach access. We have stayed in other units in this complex with beach access directly from the unit via a stairway off the deck or via the lower (third) level. This unit provided neither, so we had to access the beach via the parking lot and a common stairway. Although inconvenient, this didn't distract from our enjoyment of the beach. The grandkids really enjoyed the beach and we would return.
My husband and I really enjoyed the condo. The views were great! We even seen a whale breaching in the bay from the balcony of our condo. Everything was clean and fresh in the condo. The beds were comfortable and the towels were lush. There is a new grill gas and we spent several nights grilling from the balcony. We were visiting from Florida and the condo had everything we needed. We will definitely come back. We love the area. We took in whale watching from a boat out of Monterey, but be prepared to be sea sick. If you go, try to get a slot that is first thing in the morning as the tides start acting up around noon. We did the steam engine on Bear Mountain and next door was a state park with Giant Redwoods. We took a drive down to Big Sur and did the 17-mile drive threw Pebble Beach and played in the sand at Carmel by the Sea. We didn't want to leave!!!
