San Marcos House Rental Photos and Description

Three bedroom one and half bathrooms with sleeping for up to eight guests

This 1,250 square foot home with vaulted ceilings was built in 2001. The three bedroom one-and-half bath home sets on a six-acre gentleman's pecan orchard.

The physical address is 325 Mill Rd, Maxwell, TX 78656. The distance to the Prime Outlet Mall in only 10 miles.

We operate two additional Home Away listings (3751641 and 4352975) on this property and we serve groups up to twenty-five (25).

There is a comfortable covered patio in front of the home. Come on down and BBQ while doing some bird watching. This is a prime location to relax and listen to and watch the birds play. There is plenty of open space to take walks or even go jogging.

Children are certainly welcome, however, children must be 5 years of age because of the spiral staircase. Please call to discuss exceptions to rule.

Two miles from the San Marcos river.

Twenty miles from the Comal river.

Austin TX is located 30 miles north.

San Antonio, TX is located 40 miles south.

New Braunfels, TX is located 20 miles south.

Fredericksburg, TX is located 88 miles northwest

This property is a working gentleman's pecan orchard. The pecan harvest normally occurs in the month of November.

The owners live on site and for the convenience of our guests we are able to quickly respond to any property management issue that may arise. The HVAC system is on a service provider contract that provides same day service should anything go wrong. Brian is quite handy at the basic homeowner fix-it needs and is happy to help at any time.

In 2016 we have begun purchasing wind power from the 'Coast' and West Texas wind farms to power all electrical needs on site.

About Brian and Jo Anne Picht

My wife and I have managed properties for over 14 years. We love the pecan orchard so much we decided it is only right to share the experience with our traveler friends. Last year we offered our first Home Away property next door at the 'Nut House'. We live on site and are active in the day to day operations of the farm and Home Away. The property is located on a working pecan orchard complete with 140 old pecan trees ranging from 40 to 70 feet tall. We enjoyed a bountiful harvest in 2014. Jo Anne makes the best pralines, pecan pies and other goodies to take home if so desired. She operates with a Texas Food Cottage license which allows her to make certain foods on site per State law.

We purchased this property sight unseen back in 2007 as it was such a beautiful property. Jo Anne first found the property listed on eBay, however, the auction did not reach reserve. The only photos we had access to were posted online. Next, we participated in a live auction held at the farmhouse via telephone and came very close to winning, however, it was necessary to submit a conventional offer through the auctioneer within 48 hours after the auction closed.

The offer was accepted and we moved from Sun Valley, Idaho, nestled in the mountains of Central Idaho, to Central Texas in a heartbeat. We have never looked back. We love Texas and all it has to offer. Come enjoy a little slice of Paradise.

Perfect!

This is our second time to stay at one of the homes. Both homes are beautifully decorated and so clean. Brian is great to work with and makes everything so easy. We love staying here and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. One of our favorite places!

Bird House

The description of the property was just as described. Truly enjoyed our stay and great hospitality. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy the peaceful and relaxing outdoors. We plan to return with more time to enjoy! The Birdhouse was full equipped and very clean. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. May not b e the best place for toddlers due to the spiral staircase.

Location Location Location! Awesome setting, and great house!

I utilized the property as a place for my parents 2-3 minutes away from a wedding venue. They are typically semi-picky travelers, and I only received positive feedback on the house, location, and kindness of the hosts. Trust me, I would have heard it all! They even left a light on in their car overnight, and a quick call to Brian had them fixed up very quickly. I cannot thank Brian and his wife enough for the great experience. If you want a great location, house, host and prompt communication....This is the spot for you! Will keep in mind for any future needs down the road.

Great House

This is a beautiful house and only minutes from San Marcos. We stayed the weekend for a Texas State football game and it was perfect.

Great owners as well. Very friendly and they upgraded us at no charge for the weekend because they larger house on the property was available. We will definitely book again.

Great and clean house!

Beautiful and quite area. Great locations and the house had plenty of space for our family vacation. It was also very clean which is one of our main things when looking to stay anywhere. Will definitely stay here again.

Amazing home with outstanding hosts!

A group of us like to plan a yearly trip to float the river and this home was absolutely perfect! The pictures don't do the home justice. Along with the amazing accommodation, Brian and JoAnne went above and beyond to make sure that our stay went well. The home was very cozy and had everything you could possibly need. All of my friends were very impressed and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you again for being such wonderful hosts.
