About Grayson

I love Charlotte! I am prior military and a proud New Yorker who has settled in Charlotte for the last 2 decades. I love the NoDa area because it offers the best of both worlds- urban flair and southern charm.

Grayson purchased this townhome in 2007

Why Grayson chose NoDa

The Neighborhood

NoDa is recognized as Charlotte's primary Arts District. There are numerous art and craft galleries to be found in the district.

The NoDa community has had numerous accolades for being the forefront of Charlotte's urban revolution.

NoDa is the SoHo of the Southeast. We have Amelie's French Bakery which is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Walk a block to shop for clothing, groceries, Art, music, handmade items. Hang out at the Dog Bar with your pooch or grab a coffee or ice cream and walk in one of the many neighborhood parks or people watch in NoDa.

Walk downstairs to retail and Arts District. NoDa is Charlotte's most walk-able neighborhood. The community has great proximity to downtown, numerous restaurants, galleries, shops and entertainment venues.

Walk to Revolution Pizza & Ale for a bite to eat or have a beer at Growlers Pour House before catching a show at The Neighborhood Theater. There are also plenty of gallery crawls and afternoons of live music at the various smaller venues in this wonderful neighborhood. If you have a pet, Charlotte’s famous Dog Bar is also a short walk from home when living at the Renaissance.

Less than 3 miles to Uptown Charlotte and the game by car. You can also keep your treasured Bugatti secure and scratch free with a private attached garage. You can also reach any area in Charlotte within 20 minutes due to the central location.

What makes this townhome unique

Other Things to Note

* This is a 3 story town-home located above retail and you will have to be able to walk up stairs within the unit. There are no elevators on the premises.

* The Amtrak and Cargo train tracks that pass through Charlotte are across the street from the house. They run at 1-2 times a night. As a New York-er i'm immune and my guests have said it never bothered them after the first time noticing it. It adds to the urban charm.

*Price includes LED Flat screen TVs

Guestbook comments from the owner

This is a great place to stay. 15 minutes from uptown Charlotte. Walking distance from shops and bar/restaurants of North Davidson. The place itself is spacious and very welcoming with all the amenities you could possibly need. Grayson made herself readily available during my family's stay.

Perfect for all of our needs!

  • 5 of 5

Grayson is wonderful to work with, very accommodating and responds to any emails or text immediately. The rental is very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. I actually loved watching and listening to the trains, and they never woke me. Neighbors are quiet and friendly. I was there alone with my two boys and was a little nervous being so close to the city, but we felt very safe in the area. Noda is a fun, trendy place and Charlotte is an easy 10 minute drive.

Property Was Excellent

  • 5 of 5

This property was exactly as advertised and Grayson was wonderful to work with in coordinating all aspects of the rental. Having the option of the extra cots set up helped our party to ensure that everyone had a bed. Additionally as host, Grayson went out of her way to add to the experience with tea, coffee, pamphlets, etc. to replicate a hotel like experience.

As mentioned in other reviews there is some train noise but I believe the walkability to NoDa far outweighs any noise and host provides plenty of ear plugs if needed.

Exactly as seen

  • 3 of 5

Grayson place was exactly as seen here. Two bedrooms, roommate style and a small balcony off the master. It was clean and decorated well. As others have mentioned here. Very close to the NoDa strip of shops and restaurants. Very nice walk from the apartment to the strip.

There were only two setbacks: First- the train runs all day and night; it's right across the street. Very loud and runs late at night, can interrupt your sleep. She provides ear plugs but for the light sleeper-this will remain a challenge for you.

Second- she has a 100.00 cleaning fee but requires you to strip the beds and gather all linen and trash throughout the home; loading the washing machine and dishwasher, and throwing out the trash. You must also start the dishwasher and washing machine before you leave. With a cleaning fee, I don't expect to do this. It's the cleaning services job.

There's no grace period on the keyless lock. Well if there is then it's really short. At 10:04, we realized we'd forgotten to put the garage opener back. Was running late due to having to clean the home, so we had to call her and place the opener in the driveway for the maid that was waiting in a SUV in the parking lot.

Overall the home was pretty and convenient to everything.

Owner's Response: Thank you for review, its more than fair! I'm glad you enjoyed the homes comfort, decor, and convenience to the Arts district and fine dining. Our cleaning fee covers a 3rd party service completing all of the cleaning when you depart including laundry, making beds, etc. We do encourage you to clean after yourselves during your stay to avoid excessive cleaning because we are not a hotel and do not offer daily or weekly maid services. Any additional cleaning by guests are of course optional and based on your comfort level so you can feel at home during your stay. The cleaning fee also varies based upon our negotiated rates for group sizes and pets. The trains are outside of our control but also vary in terms of guest tolerance levels so our listing is very transparent on its location across from our very own "urban noise" and our excitement with the upcoming opening of the first light rail service in North Carolina being right across the street. This will be completed by the end of 2016 and offer the convenience of making it 7 minutes to center city. Once that is complete we will no longer be a railroad crossing as it's an elevated light rail system. That means no more horns, Amen!

Beautiful property in NoDa!

  • 5 of 5

Grayson was very helpful during the process before, during and after our stay. The location was perfect for our group, as it was only about 10 minutes from the Time Warner Cable Arena which was where our event was being held. The house was pristine when we got there, and while we did have 7 people staying, it was very accommodating and there was plenty of room!

Perfect Place, Great Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for a girls getaway weekend. We maxed out at 8 people and was a bit worried about comfortable accommodations but owner provided plenty of pillows, blankets, air mattress, eye masks for darkness, ear plugs for the train, slippers, some bath lotion, and a nice basket of treats upon arrival. Yes, there is a train, commuter and commercial that goes by but ample earplugs provided and didn't bother our group who all came from busy cities, trains are like urban crickets. The neighborhood NoDa was easily walkable, lots of good places to eat & drink, and local art & beer scene on point. Owner allowed an early check in for travelers come from far away which was nice. Thanks for a great stay and memorable weekend!!!

good place, good location,

  • 4 of 5

The condo is exactly as advertised. It is very close to the train tracks but the owner provides ear plugs which are essential for a good night sleep. As of August 2015 there was a lot of construction both on the condo common area and the light rail infrastructure outside the front of the building. However we only used the condo at night so

it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. It would have been negative if we spent the day on the property.

NoDa is a bit far to walk if you have health issues as I have back problems.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for staying with us. I do apoplgize for any inconvenience the neighborhood construction may have caused. Everyone is anticipating the soon to be completed opening of our light rail stop which will make it even more convenient a location with a 7 minute, 1stop train ride to Uptown. Please visit us again to take advantage of the newly renovated buildings and amenities. We are always looking to improve and your feedback is essential to that. Thank you!
