|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Located just steps from the swimming beach and at the end of a cul-de-sac, this newly renovated home offers a fully stocked kitchen with granite counter-tops, tile floor, dishwasher and microwave. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktails on the deck while watching the dolphins, pelicans and waves. Stay outside on the deck in the evening for some amazing stargazing - far away from the bright lights of Galveston & Surfside. The big screen TV, with DVD and satellite service, is located in the living room and offers the perfect gathering point to watch the big game, race, or movie. The home also has high-speed internet and BR #2 has 40' TV w/ satellite. Newly updated with 2 bathrooms.
Treasure Island: Treasure Island at San Luis Pass is a quiet, family oriented hamlet with 20 miles of beach that reaches all the way to Surfside. The community is located at the base of San Luis Pass Bridge. Due to damage caused by Hurricane Ike, the swimming area for the community can only be accessed by a crossover less than a block away from the house (at the end of Jolly Roger - see the crossover bridge in above pictures). Treasure Island is perfect for those who want to get a way from the crowds, spend their days at the beach, and their evenings reconnecting with family and friends while sitting on the deck. Across the road is San Luis Pass County Park. It offers a public boat launch into Christmas Bay, the perfect place for kayaking and sailing. The park also includes fishing areas and fish cleaning stations. A pavilion for family or group gatherings is available for rent. Treasure Island offers a convenience store (Bright Light) that sells everything from bait to lunch meat to fuel filters!
Going to Galveston: Galveston Island is just across the toll bridge ($2 each direction). Galveston's Historic District and the Strand are about 30 miles (45 min) away. While in the historic district, tour Galveston's historic mansions, visit the Elissa (tall sailing ship) and the Texas Seaport Museum, or go shopping and dining in the many restaurants and bars the area offers. Moody Gardens, Schliterbaun Waterpark, and the Lone Star Flight Museum are about 25 miles (35 min) from the house. The start of Seawall Blvd is only about 25 minutes away with mini-golf, restaurants, and Kroger.
Surfside and Brazoria County Attractions: Just up Bluewater Highway from Treasure Island is Surfside. Surfside offers a liquor store, grocery, and several bars and restaurants. Be sure to take a walk on the Jetty to get a unique look at the island from the water. It's always fun to stand next to the 'big boats' as they go into and out of the harbor. From Surfside, Lake Jackson offers Sea Center Texas (a free aquarium & nature center), Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, the Brazos Mall, Walmart and many grocery stores. Nearby golf courses are located in Freeport and Lake Jackson (each is approx 40 min away).
We bought this house a few months ago and decided to continue to offer it as a rental. If you stayed here before, you know it was already lovely, but we added our own touch, as we added additional color to the place, but most importantly, a second bath! My wife grew up by the ocean and our family enjoyed many summers at the beach. Now God has blessed us with this place and we can't wait to share it with your family!
Danny Ogle purchased this house in 2016
Treasure Island is a quiet subdivision. Our house is at the end of the swimming beach that stretches all the way to Surfside. Although the house is not 'technically' beachfront, it is located at a cul-de-sac and sits at an angle less than 200 ft from the beach, with a spectacular, unobstructed view of the ocean!
30 minutes from either Galveston or Lake Jackson for shopping, dinning, and entertainment.
Had a great time. The house was by far more than we could have hoped for. Mom thoroughly enjoyed staying here over a hotel. If we come through again, we will definitely try you first
We had a wonderful time. (except for the mosquitoes outside) The house is beautiful. Real close to the ocean.
Practically front row, has a great view from the porch! Our trip was great and I definitely recommend this rental!!
Perfect beach house for a quick family vacation! The location is about 30 minutes from Galveston in a quiet neighborhood. You can easily walk to the beach and it was nice and never crowded due to the private neighborhood access. The house is cozy and clean. They had everything we needed- cooking utensils, dishes, glassware, towels & bed linens. The only thing you need to bring are your groceries, swimsuit and a bottle or 2 of mosquito repellant (as you've seen in other reviews, they can be bad at times). Thank you for such great accommodations! Wish we could've stayed longer!
House was well accomodated, looks even better than it appears on website. Beds were comfy, plush soft blankets available. Beach maintenance is great, we came 5 days after tropical storm bill had flooded the development no real issues. Dunes were still intact for the most part and they were working on the areas that had been damaged. They keep beach very clean, wonderful little beach, very few people. And yes the water is muddy but that is not a surprise to anyone who has frequented Galveston much at all. A couple of cans of mosquito fogger and off are necessary if planning to use porch or spend any time in garage underneath house in the summer, I've lived in Texas(including se tx) all of my life and never seen mosquitos like it. It wouldn't change my choice even in retrospect, wonderfully relaxing vacation and out of the hustle and bustle of Galveston. Owner has very thorough list of activities to do in book on coffee table. Didn't go to many of them as we didn't want to leave cabin and neighborhood beach much, 4 year old enjoyed it as well. Miss it already.
We stayed over the 2015 Mothers Day Weekend.
The home was amazing! Its cleanliness and stock of a get away kitchen was perfect. We were able to grill, visit and drink with our Family without a hitch. The quaint neighborhood was friendly and just the right size. The location was close enough to Galveston to allow us to spend the day shopping without the fear of being to tired to drive back.
We hope to rent again real soon....but this home goes quickly, so if you're interested in it, I'd suggest you book way in advance.

The accomodations were great and just as described. The beach was very close and pretty private so it was great for the kids. The only warning I want to give future guest is beware of the swarms of mosquitos. They will attack and cover you. Other than that it is a very serene vacation for the family. The owner of the place is also very nice and very accomodating! Would have given 5 stars if not for the mosquitos!
