About Tara Merlo
My mother and I just bought this cottage in May 2014 as an investment in my daughter's future. In her honor, we named our new cottage Savannah Sands!

Quaint and quiet
Loved our stay at Savannah sands. We had everything we needed. Loved being so close to walk to lighthouse and beach. Bed very comfy. Saw several deer in the mornings. Enjoyed soaking up the sun in the deck even though it was only about 67 degrees. Wish there were a few restaurants more local. And that the wifi was a bit amped up. But if we were there in the summer-- there prob would have been eats galore and no need for wifi! Thanks for a perfect romantic weekend!
They thought of everything. Very homey feel. Convenient to beach and local attractions
Great location! Cozy cottage!
Very nice, clean and cozy cottage! My husband and dog stayed here to enjoy the Norman Cruz beach near this property. We also enjoyed walks down Pere Marquette pier/park just steps away from the cottage. Will most likely stay here again for another vacation!
Very cute little cottage. I really enjoyed my time while I stayed here. Cottage was very clean and so close to the beach. I stayed here with my kids and they loved walking to the beach and playing at the park. I would stay again if I come back to the area.
Location, Location, Location!
Easy walk to the beach! Great place if you have things to do in the area. Easily accommodates 4, house has all things needed for daily living.
The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for our needs.
I was especially pleased that most of the necessitis were provided. I always forget something, and it is a lot more packing when you have to bring linens for the whole family. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. At first I was concerned that the distance to the beach would be too much, because I had 2 handicapped kids. But it was an easy walk and good for them. The only thing missing was a view of the water from the cabin.
We are located just down the street from USS Silversides Submarine Memorial where you can tour the sub. Nearby are two marinas (walking distance) and kayak rentals. We are also located 20 minutes from Michigan Adventure Amusement and Water Park, and 45 minutes drive from dune buggy rentals.
