While walking around the village you may still see some of the Creole women still cooking outside on what is known as a fire hearth. If you get a chance to try a plate of food from them do not pass it up. You may just want to sit back and relax on the beach or enjoy the views of the sea from our restaurant, gazebo on the dock or the roof top where nature displays her beauty in displays at sunrise and sunset. For some adventure our guests can use our bikes to explore farther afield or kayaks to explore the surrounding waters. Take a kayak out to Placencia Caye or a bit farther out to Bugle Caye or if so inclined in to the lagoon where mangroves abound with wild life. You may even meet an inquisitive manatee or Dolphin on your day out. For those with more of an adventurous spirit day trips both inland and out on the Caribbean Sea or local rivers can be arranged right from the Resort.
Daily tours can be arranged to the Belize Barrier Reef the largest barrier reef in the northern hemisphere and the longest unbroken reef in the world and the once in a lifetime experience of the Great Blue Hole. Go fishing in the inner cayes or along the reef. We offer trolling, spin casting, drop fishing and the ever popular fly fishing, which Belize is a favorite spot for. Placencia is home to the fly-fisherman's grand slam and super grand slam. Dive or snorkel along the walls, canyons of the main barrier reef or explore the Faro of the inner cayes or atolls outside the main barrier. Want to go along for the boat ride and get some sun and sights, your welcome to join the fun.
Exploring history your thing? The ancient Mayan ruins are throughout Belize and most can be done in day trips right from Paradise Resort. Nim Li Punit and Lubaan Tun can both be done in a day or split them up with the Rio Blanco Falls or Cave tubing the Blue Creek Caves, the Mayan underworld of Xibalba. The stone maiden of Xunantunitch awaits you in the rainforest near the Guatemalan border with a cool refreshing swim at the inland Blue Hole on your way back home to Paradise Resort.

Alan & Deloris Stamm are the proud owners of Paradise Resort in Placencia, Belize. They call Jacksonville Florida home when in the U.S. but when in Belize, their focus is totally on your relaxation and experience while you're on vacation, or simply visiting their Resort to see Belize in a slower paced atmosphere. You'll feel like family while you visit us and we welcome you to visit often and even friend us on our personal Facebook, take our cell numbers and text or call us when you feel the need to talk, or want to catch up.
We welcome any comment and insist on excellence, so please, even if the comment is negative, let us know and we will make any issue right. While we strive for excellence in every capacity, we are only human and are at the mercy of other people's performance, so occasionally, there are things that need to be corrected. We are in the service industry to serve you and your needs in every capacity. We want your experience to be a pleasant one and will try our best to make it so.

We are currently writing a book about our journey to this point In our lives and why we chose Placencia Belize of all places in the world.
We were invited by friends to come and visit Belize and fell madly in love with the people, sunrises and sunsets. I know this may sound like something you've heard before many times, but the sunsets hear are the very best in the world.
We visited, with a bit of reluctance and were very surprised by the welcoming atmosphere of the village and its people. We have traveled the world over and have never been happier in any place like we are here in the village.
We had heard the stories of how dangerous Belize was and were very skeptical to even visit. However, the only place that is anymore dangerous than your own neighborhood is the major city of Belize City and that is because the population exploded in the 90's, when tourism was just really beginning to grow in Belize.
The village of Placencia is much like that of 1950's America and has a slower paced attitude offered than any other place we have visited. When you walk, drive, or ride a bike down the main street in the village, you'll see what we mean when we call it "Island Time" because the people are just as happy to sit and play Dominos as they are to work a 12 hour day.
Come see us and we'll share a Rum Punch together.
Paradise Resort offers a full service, laid back atmosphere that can accommodate your every need. sure, there are other hotels, resorts and even privately owned islands with those big named resorts on them, but you won't find the owner sitting at a table and welcoming guests to join them to visit and make sure that they are happy with the service. Alan is at his table in the restaurant everyday and when you walk by, even if you aren't staying with us, he'll say, "Good day! How are ya?" That's why we love Paradise Resort so much, because it is a "mom & pop" owned business, with prices lower than most, that offers every amenity that one could ask for, but also offers a safe, personal experience to its patrons. You can feel at home with us, or you can stay at one of the "Big guy's" places and miss the personal experience that we offer. Either way, we want to encourage you to come and visit us at Paradise and say hello.
The owners and staff really make this a great place to relax in a clean, safe, and beautiful environment. Rooms are very clean, food is excellent . I feel like this is my home away from home and highly recommend Paradise . I liked it so much I made 5 trips in 6 months already this year (2011) . Paradise is truly a relaxing place to be and is named appropriately .
Paradise resort offers its visitors a Home Away From Home experience and even if you are interested in an activity that we do not offer, we can set you up, or point you in the right direction to meet your needs. Enjoy our rooftop dining, cozy restaurant dining, our bar and our dock bar with karaoke. Our restaurant sits right on the beach and after a delightful meal, you can watch a magnificent sunset with that special someone, or simply reflect watching alone. Belize is noted for its breathtaking beauty and its culture. Come and visit a slice of paradise at the Paradise Resort and Hotel. Tell Alan that you heard that the tacos were awesome!
