A great property with everything you need.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property from 11/20-11/25/16. We went down to visit my in-laws who were 15 mins down the main road, in Timber Pines, so that was nice & convenient. We were close to the grocery stores, (just a few mins away), Dunkin Donuts, CVS, restaurants galore & Wickee Wachee & only an hour away from Tampa Airport.

The house was perfect for us. Everything seemed pretty clean & the neighborhood was nice & quiet. There are 2 beaches that are about a 5 min drive away, which is nice. Port Lee Beach has a nice playground for kids. At the entrance of "The Heather" community is a little shopping plaza that has a salon, spa & Italian restaurant. I went to the spa & had a massage & it was one of the best massages I've ever had & I'm a licensed massaged therapist myself, so I recommend going there.

The house - the best part was the size of the master bedroom. That was great. There was even a pack & play in the master closet to use. The bed was very comfortable & I slept great. The TV in the living is nice & big & plenty of games in the closet. The washer & dryer came in handy too, so we didn't have to pack so much clothing. The kitchen has everything you could need. There's a super cute pool out the back slider. It has a heater, but was not working when we were there. This is the reason for the 4*, but Brian, the owner, was awesome.

Georgan, who helps take care of the property, is super helpful & nice! She answered any questions I had & we were able to get into the house pretty early, which was helpful w/ a young child. There was even a night light in the master bedroom, which was perfect.

In reading the reviews before we rented, 1 person said something about roaches, but I think they were mistaken. If you're not familiar w/ Florida, they have bugs called, Palmetto Bugs. They're NOT roaches. There were maybe 2 in the house & 2 in the garage, no biggie, harmless. No matter how clean your place is, you can't avoid having them.

The negatives about the house- the hot water gets used up quickly, because it's a small hot water tank, so shower first, then laundry. It's not a problem in the summer, but in the winter, it's cold. The blinds on the slider need replacing, because they seem like they're coming apart a bit.The dish washer works fine, but takes some umph to open. That's it. Totally worth staying here & we will again. If you get to meet the neighbor, he's very cool & interesting & you'll see peacocks there! He's 94, but seems 80.

Owner's Response: Thanks Carissa for taking the time to give your feedback. We appreciate having folks taking the time to respond and let us know what they liked, and pointing out things that we need to work on. I'm so sorry the pool heater was broke for your time with us. We had a run of bad luck with various issues outside the house after the hurricane in early October and the heater was further down our list of repairs needing addressed. Since your stay the pool itself has now been drained and re-surfaced with a new pool pump and heater unit installed. The deck has also had an uplift. We'd be thrilled to have you back again. Thanks again for your feedback, Brian

Good location for the 'Adventure Coast', everything supplied for a family stay.

  • 4 of 5

This was our second stay at this house. The location is perfect for us as it's just ten minutes from family who live in Brooksville. We also like the location as it's so close to the 'Adventure Coast', with plenty of stuff to do up and down the 19 freeway. We have two young children, and they loved visiting the nearby beaches, Sun West Park, Boyett's Grove, Weeki Wachi Springs, Honeymoon Island, local cinemas and shops, and using the pool every day. We will definitely be back again! The only reason this is four stars instead of five is simply because the house is a little dated, and there were occasional issues with things needing repairs during our stay: the bedroom blinds fell down when our 5 year old tries to close them, the microwave blew a fuse, and one of the toilets had an issue with the flush which needed tending to. We also saw numerous cockroaches during our time there, but simply gathered them up in a glass and threw them out into the garden. This is a great option for a fully equipped family holiday house.

Owner's Response: Thanks Stefan & Hallie, We're glad you enjoyed your second stay with us. We've had problems over the years with our blinds. They were good quality vertical blinds that were installed throughout the house but sadly with some rentals our housekeeper has found them damaged after guests have left. We have to decide whether to continue repairing what we have or replace with a less expensive alternative. Our personal view is to try and maintain a good quality but that either means we need to charge more or add a refundable damages fee for our rental, or repair what gets broke if possible. It just takes one bad rental experience to cost a lot to rectify as an owner. We firmly believe we would not rent if our house was not up to the standards we would expect ourselves. Things sometimes do break and we are really lucky to have Georgan on hand to respond and help. Thankyou again, Brian

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect house and location for what we needed! We were visiting family in Homosassa and this rental was close to everything. Close to shopping, Weeki Wachee, Homosassa Nature Experiences, restaurants and not too far from all the tourist stuff like Clearwater, Johns Pass and St. Petersburg. The house was neat and clean and very well stocked with all necessities. The pool and screened in porch are just fabulous! I would rent here again and again when visiting this area. Thanks Brian!

Owner's Response: Thankyou Lori, I'm glad you had an enjoyable stay in our wee rental. It 's so quiet around the house but everything is within easy reach when needed. We've lost a few of the trees in back garden around the pool after the last hurricane, so on a positive note, that means even more of the Florida sunshine on the deck area now ! Regards, Brian

Greatest vacation

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here! We actually liked being away from all the busy stuff! Loved having our own pool and the house was clean and perfect! I would recommend anyone to stay here! We actually made the hr drive daily to honeymoon island. Didn't seem like that long of a drive with sight seeing on the way! I hope we can make it back to this house! Definitely a vacation to put in the books!

Owner's Response: Many thanks Megan for your kind review. Our house is located in a quiet area which we love also. You can completely relax and spend time locally at smaller attractions or drive for an hour or so to the theme parks in Tampa/Orlando . Best of both worlds ! The free Wi-Fi in our house also makes sure you can work online or use your phone/tablet just like home to keep in touch with everyone. We used the house just after you and have changed a few things outside and in - new pool furniture, new beddings, linnens etc and the pool is due to be re-surfaced. So hopefully if you are back with us you will see some changes.

Fun in the sun..

  • 4 of 5

The house was great, we all enjoyed the pool daily. The neighbors where very friendly, there was all kinds of wildlife the older gentleman next door pointed out to us , from peacocks squirrels and others . The cleaning lady lives next door and dropped in , which seemed a little unusual, and she seemed a little out there but overall a great time.

Owner's Response: Thanks Bob for your review. We're pleased you enjoyed your stay , our old gentleman neighbour is very friendly and has many a story to tell. We have just been at the house ourselves for our vacation and learned of his time in WW2 when he served in the Canadian Navy. Our housekeeper treats the house like it was her own and she does go out of her way to check that our guests are settled and everything is ok.

Want to thank Brian for the awesome accommodations on our stay in his lovely Home. We enjoyed the Pool every night and the beaches all day. Pine Island which is a few miles away from the Heather is very beautiful and fun. Every thing is close by, we felt at home.
