We are a retired couple who grew up in Springfield, Missouri, then moved to Florida to raise our family. Originally an engineer with the Martin Company, a career in Florida real estate followed until children in Texas and Arizona prompted us to move. After having lived in the snow and ice of Missouri, and then the tropical, rainy, and VERY humid Florida weather for years, we really appreciate all the sunny, dry weather in Arizona. No more being snowed in or rained out!

We fell in love with this area when our daughter moved to Scottsdale and we began making frequent trips to Arizona. On one of those visits, we discovered Cave Creek and its unique charm and atmosphere of a small, quaint Western-motif town. It's location made it convenient to Scottsdale and Phoenix, too; close, but not TOO close. We decided to purchase a property there that we could share with vacation renters, but we wanted something with some land to spread out in and have some privacy; not a condo or cookie-cutter type of home where you can practically reach out and touch your neighbor! We knew this property was perfect the minute we saw it. We love the results!
This is a lovely example of rural accommodation and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3-month stay in the rental. It is very spacious, with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and two sitting areas. It is very well equipped and everything is in good repair. It is finished in a south western style decor, which was in keeping with the area and home.
The rear yard had sun for almost all of the day but there is ample shade on the patio and even two pull-down shades. The whole property was fenced, which was ideal for us with a dog and had many trees/bushes along the perimeter which made for a good level of privacy. The front yard has three fruit tress (orange, grapefruit & lemon) which the owners were happy for us to use and the fruit was delicious!!
Although the rental is rurally located, it is also very close to a variety of amenities - there are two supermarkets and a YMCA with a gym & swimming pool within 5 minutes and a library within 10 minutes. Cave Creek & Carefree, two quaint outlying villages, are also within 10 minutes and there are numerous desert trails for hiking/biking/running close by.
The owners, who live locally, are very friendly and responded extremely quickly to a couple of small repairs that were required during our stay.
We are returning for next winter!!!!
Rodeo and buffalo riding nearby at the Buffalo Chip Saloon in Cave Creek, western dance halls, live music, Harrolds famous western bar all only 2 miles away. Convenient to The Boulders, Rancho Manana and numerous golf resorts, plus many arts and crafts shows, wine tastings, entertainment, etc.
