Has a homey, comfortable feel with cute decor. The view is the best. Everything worked and kitchen was well stocked.
Minimal improvement would go a long way!
I'm going to be totally honest and critical. First, I was grateful that we could come to Gulf Shores and have a house right on the beach. This was a huge blessing for our family. However, I do read these reviews and I hope this helps someone else.
The house was as described in the pictures. We have a 2 year old and I loved how the upstairs bedrooms were across the house from the master due to noise. I loved that there were 2 balconies. I loved that there was a bathroom for each bedroom.
Downfalls: the place for sure needs updating. Even things as simple as painting the trim; it was very dirty looking and just not what I would think to be in "show" condition. Upstairs balcony door was about to fall off its hinges. It also leaked into the carpet when it rained. Dishwasher didn't work. No Tupperware and it was stated there was. Washer and dryer is very small and outside of the kids bedroom upstairs. The shower where you rinse off from coming in from the beach was under the carport to where you had to walk back though the sand. Super inconvenient. The outside shower needs some work. Mattresses totally need replacing!
All in all, it was fine. Just lots of minor things that could easily be updated to make this place really great.
The location is great. Right on the beach.
As a former veteran of the Hospitality industry I was quiet surprised when we checked in to find the carpets were dirty and well worn, the shower
curtain liners were pink on the bottoms, and there were many areas that needed some touch up painting. There are broken floor tiles near the sliding glass doors to the deck. All of these minor housekeeping details should be addressed during the off season. Did I mention we were here the last week of February and the house had been empty for some time.
The kitchen is well equipped and has most items needed for light cooking if so desired. The living room furniture is pretty tired looking even for a
rental property. We slept in the first floor bedroom and the mattress is like sleeping on the floor. The other couple slept upstairs and they claimed the
bed up there was the same. You can not use a grill at this property.
The location on West Beach Blvd is very good and near the Hwy 59 intersection. We love Gulf Shores but would not rent this house again.
