average rating of 4.470588 based on 17 reviews
Branford, CT

Stay away from this rundown ramshackle roach infested bungaloid.

Here are the features you won't see advertised: years of unkempt landscaping accented with broken garbage cans without covers and full of trash, out door grill rusted permanently into the ground, warped/peeling/broken Pergo floors throughout, most light switches don't work, exposed kitchen plumbing in the bedroom highlights the exposed electrical wire running across two walls and across the cieling to the ceiling fan with 3 different light bulbs, two rusted old bikes (one with flat tires), surprises under every bed (months/years of dirt, dust, half filled juice boxes, and dead cockroaches), a special convenience light switch for the kitchen track lighting (with 2/6 dead bulbs) consisting of a hand taped and spliced electrical plug you simply yank out of the wall to turn off the lights, and plenty of midnight guests with lots of legs and hard shells to keep you company, and if you can't find enough silverware or kitchen utensils just look behind the stove - we found plenty just needing a quick rinse. The pictures on VRBO must be from at least 10 years ago because none of them shows what it really looks like now. "Recently renovated" is a complete lie at this point and I've asked VRBO to remove this listing. Beachside Management's performance was no help either.

Great location, but needs some improvements

  • 2 of 5

The property was as described, but was in need of some major repairs. The cottage is in a prime location with access to the beach and the village within minutes of walking. The property could do with some clearing of the trees to allow more light and better use of outdoor space. The flooring was vinyl and was uneven and had some damage. The floors in general seemed a bit unstable in spots.

The management team was very responsive and helpful. The beach chairs and cart made getting to the beach easy. Overall a bit too rustic for our taste!

Quaint, rustic and very beachy atmosphere

  • 4 of 5

Great time. Good location. Close to beach (although a bit of a walk), restaurants and shopping.

Do feel the shrubbery around the driveway could use some trimming as it was difficult to park without scratching the car or walking into a bush when getting out of the car. The outdoor lights did not seem to be working, making it difficult to see the keypad when returning at night.

Overall, a good experience and would recommend to friends who might be looking to stay in the area. Would consider returning. The fact that it is pet friendly is definitely a plus.

What a wonderful cottage vacaton in Siesta Key!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was a pleasant surprise. We took great walks into the village with our dog Coco. Siesta Key is such a dog friendly place. Business owners even came out to give Coco dog biscuits. We loved being able to walk across the street to the beach and take great bike rides. Coco also loved running around the yard. With great internet service, Rob was able to continue to teach his online course for Wilmington University. The cottage is such a great place to stay. Thank you, Betsy!!!

Thoroughly en;joyed our stay

  • 5 of 5

Rob and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cottage. Coco enjoyed the yard! Although the weather wasn't what we would have liked for the month, the cottage was warm and cozy and met our needs. Thank you for making sure that Rob had a strong internet connection so that he could continue to teach his online course for Wilmington University. It was so convenient to walk to the village in the evenings and to ride bicycles and walk across the street to the beach! Thank you again, Betsy!

It is a very quaint cottage.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed being at this property. It is somewhat primitive given it's age but it has everything one needs and more to make it efficient. It is in a very private setting with beautiful mature foliage.
