Pagosa Springs Lodge Rental Photos and Description

Perfect 4 Seasons Retreat For Large Families Or Groups

Lake Forest Lodge sits on a heavily wooded lot with unobstructed views to Lake Forest and the San Juan mountains. We offer a rare 5/4 in-town location, so you'll enjoy easy access to your vacation home on paved roads yet be on a wooded lakefront lot for that total vacation ambiance. Less than five minutes to Pagosa's favorite spots, including the famed Pagosa Brewery and City Market, the best regional grocery store in south central Colorado.

Everything in Lake Forest Lodge is BRAND NEW for the Summer 2014 season. We offer amenities not found in most larger vacation rentals. The master is unusually spacious with a walk-in tiled shower and a huge walk-in closet. The master has views to Lake Forest and easy access to the hot tub on the back deck with robe heaters.

Walk in the front door and be amazed by the massive great room. You'll have plenty of seating for your crowd in front of the 12' entertainment center, which includes a large-screen TV plus plenty of books, movies, games and CDs.The living area has two large comfortable sofas with recliners to rest your legs after hiking or skiing. OR cuddle up in front of the fire on the massive leather cowboy chaise.

On workation? Work if you must in the study in the front of the house with windows overlooking the lake and an unforgettable desk and chair. The study includes high-speed WiFi, a printer and basic office supplies.

The dining room table truly seats 12 for your family banquets plus six at the bar on comfortable armed swivel barstools, so you can seat 18 for big meals. The huge kitchen has every amenity imaginable for whipping up gourmet meals for a crowd up to 20 people. You'll love the elk ceramic dinnerware and lodge flatware!

Your guests will be delighted by the themed guestrooms. The split floorplan offers lots of room to spread out and privacy for larger groups. The master is on one side of the house, Moose Magic and Gone Fishin' bedrooms are on the other side of the downstairs, and the rest of the sleeping accommodations are upstairs. Every bedroom offers lots of closet space and dressers so you can unpack and relax!

Master Bedroom: decorated in an old-fashioned ski theme, from the snowshoe coffee table in the sitting area to the artwork on the wall featuring views of Wolf Creek Pass. You'll enjoy designer bedding and 600-thread-count sheets.

Moose Magic: A downstairs queen room with designer quilt and moose-themed artwork. Moose Magic shares a downstairs bath with the Gone Fishin' bedroom. The room features a large closet, high chest, two night tables and reading lamps.

Gone Fishin': This bedroom features a queen-sized bed with a side window overlooking the lake, a double dresser and mirror, side tables and lamps.

Upstairs: the upstairs has been completely rebuilt in 2014 to add two bedrooms, two designer baths and an upstairs living/gameroom area.

Bear Lair: A great family room offers a queen over queen bunkbed that sleeps four comfortably. It also has an ensuite bathroom with brand new granite countertops and a tiled shower. NOTE: For safety reasons, no small children under 8 in the upper bunk.

Elk Escape: The second upstairs bedroom has a queen over queen bunkbed and close access to the second brand new bathroom upstairs. NOTE: For safety reasons, no small children under 8 in the upper bunk.

Living room/gameroom: This area features a second TV watching area so grown-ups and kids can each have their own entertainment. This room features a TV with DVD and cable access and is furnished with a fun lodge-themed futon that folds into a full bed and two lodge single futons to sleep 4 right outside the upstairs bathroom. NOTE: the single futons are suitable only for children 12 and under.

About Chuck & Sarah Riehm

Our family has been coming to Colorado twice a year since we were first married in 1974--one summer hiking trip and one winter ski trip. The past few years the snow has been very disappointing at other major Colorado ski resorts so we thought we'd try Wolf Creek so booked a trip to Pagosa Springs in March 2013. We remember asking ourselves, 'How good could this ski resort BE with prices so low?' The answer is--GREAT! Chuck is an expert skier who can tackle any run on the mountain and the rest of us are light blue. We found plenty of terrain for all of us at unbelievably low prices for lift tickets and rentals. Plus, we just fell in love with the natural beauty of the place. The fact that you can hike in real wilderness right outside your doorstep is a real draw. Plus, Pagosa offers so many other fun activities from concerts to live theater to the amazing hot springs to horseback riding and rafting.

Chuck & Sarah Riehm purchased this lodge in 2014

Why Chuck & Sarah Riehm chose Southwestern Colorado

We had been looking for a lakefront property to call our own for some time now, yet most of the lakes we had looked at in Texas and Oklahoma were fairly sad with the drought situation. We absolutely loved Lake Forest with its natural setting in a pine forest with mountain views.

What makes this lodge unique

Great fishing right out the back door, kayaking or canoeing. Also lots of hiking trails close by. Great in-town location! Just a 20-minute walk to everyone's favorite Pagosa refreshment spot--The Pagosa Brewery.

Perfect lakeside house

  • 5 of 5

We needed a place for my husbands family to stay to celebrate husband sisters birthday. Although the cebratory events occurred in Pagosa Springs we spent our nights and a lovely Saturday at the house. It was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fantastic the porches front and back both had great views and we saw numerous deer every day.

We all would bring our families back to the home.

Awesome place.

  • 5 of 5

Lots of room for a big family. No one was crowded. Wildlife was out and about for everyone to enjoy. Place is very warming with an open kitchen straight into the living and dining room. Would highly recommend this place for a family get together. Thankyou.

Great location for family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We had 17 family members at the house and had wonderful time. We especially enjoyed the kitchen right next to the living area where delicious meals were prepared and served. Our canoeing times on the lake were very enjoyable and easily accessed. The owners were very quick to help with our having left a couple of items which were mailed back to us.

A very nice property

  • 4 of 5

The house was very lovely and accomodated all of us well. The only things we were disappointed in were: 1. We were told there was fishing right off the back porch. Actually is was about a block or more walk and when my husband and son went to fish they eneded up with a $50 fine for not registering with the group that controls that. The restrictions on fishing were also so many we drove 2 hours to Creede to fish. 2. The smoke alarm chirped every 10 minutes day and night.

Now the positive: The beds were very comfortable, there are enough bathrooms to accomodate a large family. Towels, sheets and everything you need except food is provided. The area is very beautiful and we really enjoyed ourselves. Also my mother left her billford and as I type it is being mailed back to us. If we go back to Pagosa Springs we will check in on this again.

Was terrific place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a group of 14 that fit comfortably in the residence. Was well located to give you the feeling of being away from people but was close to town on good roads so were able to get to what Pagosa Springs had to offer in a easy manner. Would definately stay at residence again.
