We just recently returned from a week vacation at this awesome home on the water and it is definitely all that anyone could want or need. We took our 26 foot boat and had a great time exploring the many miles of waterways, sounds, beaches, etc. that this centrally located area has to offer. The dock it well lit with plenty of seating, electricity, fresh water, etc. and is a fantastic place to hang out even if you do not have a boat and want to just enjoy the privacy, the views, fishing and dolphin watching. Sunset from out on the dock was incredible each night! The home has everything you could possibly need and then some. Modern look and feel while at the same time very cozy and set up for couples, families or large groups. Only a few minutes car ride to downtown, restaurants and shopping or a beautiful boat ride on the ICW into Beaufort which is such a great town to see and explore. Thanks to Lana and Glenn for sharing their home and we will certainly be back again.............
We stayed at this lovely house for two weeks and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The house, the view, and the weather were ideal, which was a healing compensation for the terrible New England winter we endured last year. We didn’t fish, but we loved watching the dolphins, the herons and egrets, and even one day, a rare white pelican. We visited Savannah and Charleston, but spent most of our time in the old part of Beaufort, on The Mossy Oaks Trail with our dog, or just relaxing at the house. Glenn and Lana are wonderful hosts, responding to any question or request immediately. We couldn’t have asked for a better escape from the cold.
I was in search of a home to rent close to Parris Island, SC for my family to stay in order to attend my youngest son's Marine Corp Boot Camp Graduation. In addition to my immediate family, I also had my extended family, and my Marine's girlfriend and her very supportive Momma (like a second mom to my son), and we were surprising him with his best friends and his dog! I wanted us to be all be together under one roof for meals and for spending time quality time together with our new Marine. I am SUPER OCD about these kind of things and searched and searched and searched online for just the right place.
The house was within 20-25 minutes of Parris Island and was just perfect. We were able to get back and forth to the base with no issues and grab groceries at WalMart for family meals. We also went to IHOP and TGIF for casual family dining, and my husband and I enjoyed Dockside, a very popular seafood restaurant on Lady's Island, a 20 minute drive in the other direction (towards Beaufort - no clue which way - I am directionally challenged), as we came down a night early to get situated. The atmosphere was nice and the food was great.
My family, friends, and especially my Marine loved the house. He was able to decompress and relax with all of us. He took his girl to the drive-in movie theatre just down the road, enjoyed a home-cooked, meal, Chik-Fil-A, the serene atmosphere, and sleeping in!
My husband fished off the dock every single day and caught speckled trout which he fried up in the cooker downstairs. The only thing that could have made this trip more enjoyable is if it were summer time!
This was the first time I had every used VRBO and I did not know what to expect. I certainly hope that any future experience I have is as fantastic as it has been with The Browns.
Thank you, Lana for your hospitality and graciousness!
My wife, son, and I rented this beautiful home while attending our son's graduation at Parris Island. It was perfect in every way. We highly recommend this property for Marine Corps families, or anyone looking for tranquility on the water. Thank you very much Lana!
I can't say enough good things about the Browns and their lovely home in Seabrook! This is the epitome of southern hospitality. We loved being able to drive into Beaufort (not a long drive at all!) but also enjoyed the tranquility this home provided. We spent the mornings on the screened in porch drinking coffee, watching the beautiful sunrise. It was absolutely perfect... we didn't want for anything while we were staying at this home. Communication with the owners was also great! We can't wait to return, hopefully in a few months! HIGHLY recommend this home for your trip to the low country!
This place was wonderful. The location is private and the house is gorgeous. Everything you could need is provided, and the owners wonderfully responsive. Try Saltus River Grill in Beaufort. Fabulous. The scenery here is one of a kind. You can't go wrong. Gilmans from Cleveland
